yeah
every afternoon Thomas the Tank Engine
puffs along his branch line with Annie
and Clarabel first they passed the
watermill next they come to a big farm
then they can see a bridge of the
village nestled either side
this is a special place whenever
children here Thomas coming along they
stand on the bridge waving Tilly is out
of sight
one day Thomas was running late
he had stopped the signal before the
bridge to talk to some new children /
see the green engine was waiting to
hurry up Thomas called Percy when the
signal dropped
if you're late Sir Topham Hatt make it a
new engine to replace you
he would never do that thought Thomas
but he was worried next day Thomas
hurried along the line just ahead was a
good yard there on the platform was an
inspector waving a red flag
next Thomas saw some children they were
waving to something must be wrong
thought Thomas this stations for goods
not passengers help Thomas help
we're glad to see you called the
children please will you take us home
the stationmaster explains at Thomas's
driver that the school bus had broken
down and all the parents would be
worried if the children were late Thomas
waited as the children walk down from
the bridge then he took the children to
the next station roberti was waiting to
take them home when Thomas finished his
journey he was very late
he was worried that Sir Topham Hatt
might be cross with him

he's been late one time too many
he'll be in trouble now but next morning
when Thomas picked up his passengers Sir
Topham Hatt was nowhere to be seen

was a stretch where the hot Sun bent the
rails on the track careful Thomas called
his driver but it was too late
that's done it said his driver we shan't
get any further today but what about my
passengers
asked Thomas don't worry they'll be
looked after replied his driver
while workmen repaired the line Thomas
had the shunt freight cars in the yard
bird he came to see her I understand you
need my help again
yes Bertie replied Thomas sadly I can't
run without my rails 30 set off to
collect Thomas's passengers
hello Bernie they said we're glad you're
here Bertie drove along the road that
runs by the railway he stopped at each
station along the line sometimes he
stopped between stations to let people
off closer to their homes
Thomas felt miserable I've lost my
passengers to birdie they like him
better than me
Sir Topham Hatt arrived your branchline
is repaired i'm going to change your
timetable so that you and Bertie can
work together more when Thomas reached
the station there to his relief were all
his passengers birdie is a good boss but
we missed our train rides with you they
said later Thomas spoke to birdie

like to make new friends but I'm glad to

Henry James and Gordon were miserable
been shut up for several days for being
naughty and long to be let out again at
last Topham Hatt arrived i hope you are
sorry he said and understand that every
job on the railway is important we have
a new tank engine called Percy who helps
pull coaches and thomas and Edward of
work the mainline nicely but i will let
you out now if you promise to work hard
yes said the three engines we will
that's right but please remember that
this no shunting nonsense must stop
he then told Percy Edward and Thomas
that they could go on play on the branch
line for a few days
they ran off happily to find any

waiting for the signalmen to set the
switch so that he could get back to the
yard he was eager to work but was being
rather careless and not paying attention
Edward lon Percy be careful on the
mainline whistle to the signalman you
are there but Percy didn't remember to
whistle so the busy signal- forgot him
he waited and waited the switch was
still against him so he couldn't move
then he looked along the main line fake
be useful in her she's straight towards
him first quarter with the express
Gordon stop with these buffers a few
inches from his own but Percy had begun
to move
I won't stay here I'll run away we went
straight through Edward station and was
so frightened that even right of
Gordon's Hill without stopping

the two engines are now good friends but
Percy is always most careful when he
goes on the main line

one day Edward was in the shed where he
lived with the other engines they were
all bigger than Edward and boasted about
it
the driver won't choose you again said
Gordon he wants strong engines like us
but the driver farm and felt sorry for
Edward would you like to come out today
oh yes please Edward so they lit his
fire made lots of steam and edward
puffed away the other engines were very
cross of being left
Edward work hard all day
the coaches thought it was very kind and
the driver was very
I'm going out again tomorrow it would
tell the other engines that night
what do you think of that but he didn't
hear what they thought he was so tired
and happy that he fell asleep at once
next morning Edward woke up to find
nothing can change
Gordon was still boasting you watch me
little Edward as I rushed through with
the express that will be a splendid site
for you
goodbye little Edward work out for me
this afternoon
Edward went off to do some shunting he
liked shunting it was fun playing with
break with covered quietly and give them
up push then he would stop and the silly
freight cars would go bump into each
other what they cried whatever is
happening

Edwards played for the were no more
freight car then he stopped to rest
presently he heard a whistle Gordon was
very cross
instead of nice shining coaches he was
pulling a very dirty freight train at
Great Train upgrade train a freight
train he grumbled the shame of it
the shame with all the shame of it
Edward laughed and went to find some
more freight cars then there was trouble
Gordon can't get up the hill the
particle to Edwards driver will you take
it we can push him please
they found Gordon hard way off and very
cross his driver firemen were talking to
him severely

himself at the top of the hill

happy because he had been so helpful at
the next station found the driver and
firemen were very pleased with him
the firemen gave him a nice long drink
and the driver said I'll get out my pain
tomorrow and give you a beautiful coat
of blue with red stripes then you will
be the smartest engine in the shed
