How to rename a topic in HelpNDoc (Step-by-step guide)

Once topics are created within the table of contents, it is possible to rapidly change their name to fine-tune your documentation layout.

Step 1
There are three ways to rename a topic:
- Click a topic in the table of contents and select Rename in the Table of contents group of the Home ribbon tab
- Right-click a topic in the table of contents and select Rename
- Click a topic in the table of contents and press the F2 keyboard shortcut
The topic's caption is highlighted in your table of contents and ready to be renamed.

Step 2
Enter the new name and press Enter.
The new name is assigned to the topic. This is one of the ways to customize your table of contents in HelpNDoc. We will see how easy it is to modify its layout in another guide.

Hello Folks. We are going to take a look at how to rename a topic in HelpNDoc today. Once your
topics have been created within the table of contents, it is possible to change the topics
name to fine-tune your documentation layout.
If you haven’t already done so, go ahead and
start HelpNDoc, and open your documentation project.
I’m going to show now 3 methods you can use to rename a topic.
With the first method, you click a topic in the table of contents and then select ‘Rename’ here
in the Table of contents group in the Home ribbon tab.
Using the second method, you Right-click a topic in the table of contents and select Rename
from the pop up menu that appears.
And the third method to rename your topic, simple click a topic in the table of contents and
press the F2 keyboard shortcut.
After choosing your preferred method of selecting the ‘Rename’ option, the topic will be
highlighted in your table of contents, ready to be renamed.
Now go ahead and enter a new name for your topic and press Enter.
The new name is now assigned to the topic.
