How to create a new topic in HelpNDoc (Step-by-step guide)

HelpNDoc gives you the flexibility of adding new topics in two easy steps and putting them in any order within your table of contents.

Step 1
There are four ways to create a new topic:
- Click the top half of Add topic in the Home ribbon tab to add a new topic at the bottom of your table of contents
- Click the lower half of Add topic and choose where the topic should be added
- Right-click your table of contents and select Add topic
- Right-click your table of contents and hover over Add topic to choose where the topic should be added
This creates a new topic in your table of contents.

Step 2
The newly created topic is highlighted in your table of contents and ready to be renamed. You can optionally enter the name of the new topic and press Enter.

The new topic has been created and is ready to receive content. We will see how HelpNDoc can help greatly reduce the time needed to write content in another guide.

Hello Folks, We are going to take a look at how to create a new topic in HelpNDoc today.
HelpNDoc gives you the flexibility of adding new topics in two easy steps and putting them in
any order within your table of contents.
The first step is to create a new topic. There are 4 options available to you in creating a new topic.
You can click the top half of the ‘Add topic’ button on the ‘Home’ tab in the ‘Table of
Contents’ group to add a new topic to the bottom of your table of contents.
You can click the lower half of the ‘Add topic’ button and choose where the topic should be
added from the dropdown menu. For example, you can add a topic before or after the selected
topic. Or even add a child topic.
Another optional way to add a topic would be to Right-click your table of contents and select ‘Add topic’.
And finally, you can Right-click your table of contents, hover over ‘Add topic’ with your
mouse, and in the pop up menu that appears, choose where you would like the topic to be added.
Once you’ve created your new topic, the newly created topic will be highlighted in your table of contents ready to be renamed.
It’s here in Step 2 of creating your new topic, you can now optionally change the name of the new topic you just created and press 'Enter'.
The new topic has now been created and is ready to receive content. We will see how
