Shotgun Forestock Replacement
This is a detailed description of this project. This is a video of a wood-crafted replacement for a shotgun fore stock. It uses the tools in my workshop, but there was a fair amount of hand-carving to do as well as machining. It is made from Walnut blank set and is part 1 of a 3 part series including: 1) Fore-stock Build 2) Butt-stock Build 3) Finishing the Stock
The fore-stock, made by me and my first gunstock attempt. The butt-stock made by my brother and I will be a video like this one, but more pics and less video as these were happening at the exact same time (you can see him working on his part in the background in this vid and with only one camera, it was a challenge to get both projects recorded. The and finishing project will be a slide show of the hand-finishing boiled lindseed oil process my brother will send to me over the next couple weeks. He could not wait to bring it home. This project was actually an elaborate ruse to get him out of the house to prepare for a surprise party, but to me it was absolutely the main event of the weekend! I was not sure I'd be able to pull it off this weekend, but the results are well worth the effort. I did not copy the design of the original fore-stock, it was too slim to be comfortable, so this is an original my me. It feels really good and works like silk. Please subscribe, it helps keep the channel going and I watch the likes to see what people might be interested in seeing next. If you have questions for suggestions, please comment on the video. I'll reply to all supportive comments. Peace!
