PDF Form Filling

Wouldn't it be handy if you could fill-in forms in PDFs? Most PDFs don't let you do it, but this video will show you how you can do it.

hi there and welcome to get up and
running today's video is going to be on
filling in PDF forms now
sometimes you are quite lucky and you
get a form pretty much like what you see
here where the people who created the
four very helpfully process it so you
can update it yourself so if you want to
add to your street you say my street and
you can update it and tabbed only save
in this case says here you can save the
data types in this form which is great
because then you can either save it to
print it out with all your information
typed out nice and neatly or you can
even email it back which is super
convenient and also means that you can
change anything so if you decide you
don't actually live in my street you
live in my road
you can do that now would not be
fantastic
every be a few God that you had to fill
in you could do this with but
unfortunately most of the time you get
PDF it like this one which is just a
random video type picked up off the
internet and you can't
there's nothing to click on you can
highlight your name
you know the text in the document that's
what you can do you make a copy you can
actually write anything there
so i'm going to show you now is how you
can take a forum like this which you
can't do anything with and fill in the
boxes basically to do this you need to
go to the internet and down a little
program and i'll put a link to this in
need
description was basically a program
called pdf-xchange viewer that might set
the viewer but in fact you can do
editing and over type text and this is a
free program
ok so don't put any money for it
is that a website called doc you
- track calm and there are two versions
you can download you can just download
the ordinary program here and that will
just install into computer but i also
found
they've got a portable version
this means you can carry the program on
your USB stick to go into friends houses
go wherever you go
you've always got a program with you is
very very convenient so just we should
version you choose just just downloaded
and when you've downloaded it
you can upload your document that you
want to edit into the interface
ok so this is the same document that we
were just looking at that employment
document and your kind of that were ok
but i still can't type in a box and
clicking I can't time but this has a
very nice feature if you look at this up
here and says typewriter
click on typewriter now taking your box
that you can type
just click again all right you got you
so you can type anywhere you like that
one thing to bear in mind is that this
talk about it doesn't really know where
the lines are so if you go on typing in
blocks here just over time everything it
doesn't know that their boundaries so
you just doing it to place things a
little bit
I want you type something if you click
on it once you see you got this kind of
size changing element you can make it
bigger or smaller
so you can type more in or you see these
four squares you can move it around so
if you want to just make sure that
placings exactly as you want it you can
do that if you double click on it you
edit it so it's the same kind of
interesting things to do have any word
processor shift and right keyboard
select the thing at the text and here
you can change the font the font size so
it depends on the form and how much
space they give you
sometimes they might want you is it is
quite tight so you can just make it
smaller and has been meter or you can
make it bold if you want to as well
here you got your little tick boxes and
whatnots I just tend to just put a
little X on that we can just place that
we just move that around the guys near
enough or sometimes you need to circle
something so you can use one of these
shapes like an oval tool and so if you
want to select know you can select no
just like that
now you can save it you can save it
print it and send it on to somebody else
there's just one more thing I want to
show you with this and that is the
signature part like it
ok so let's go down to the bottom of
form so i'm just going to show you how
you can add your signature to the forum
ok so is a signature section and well
what we want to do is put an image of my
signature and so what I do is I scan my
images using my scanner and so this
creates this file
so I'm just going to trim this file down
a little bit so that it's nice and tight
it's just adjust that of it
books
yeah it's not sometimes we go
I'm just going to do an image and crop
and I guess we got a nice light image
just going to save that and now him my
PDA fewer go to my stamp section and you
see the predefined stamps they made
already i'm just going to click on show
stamps palette and we show stems palette
i can add my own images first need to
create my own collection and then i can
just load the image in from a file
ok then my image is close this now when
i click on stamps
I can see Joe blocks so I'm just going
to go to stamp now you can see clearly
this is a very big image and so just
using these handles
I can resize it and move it around and
just resize it until it is the size that
I want it to be
of course you could be more patient with
me and take out the white background
that's relatively straightforward using
transparency so that we are we got a
signature as a date on here
today's date
I need to save it and you're ready to go
