oh boy . be a high in this video we're
going to be talking about how to make a
powerpoint presentation using two
screens at the same time in order to do
this you need of course the computer and
also either a projector or an external
monitor you connect the projector or the
monitor to your computer with a cable
and then you under some changes i
usually automatically your computer will
do this you can see here it's changed
the resolution of the main screen and if
we're going to the screen resolution
settings we can see that it's doing a
combined projection on both of the
monitors the same thing if we change
this to extend these displays what we'll
see is that what we get on the first
monitor is different from what we're
getting on the second monitor so will
apply those settings and now we'll see
what happens
what you're seeing now is a screencast
of two screens at the same time so here
in this video it looks like they've
merged into one screen but as I'm
watching this in the room the screen on
the right is actually a projector screen
or the screen on the left is my own
computer but you can see that the the
screens now are the same shape which
means that my my own laptop screen which
originally was long and wide is now now
the same shape as the projector I can
fix that by taking the resolution on my
screen one up to the maximum setting
that screen allows and now you can see
when i do this that my my widescreen
shape of my laptop screens is back to
its original shape
so now we can open a powerpoint file and
you'll notice that anything i have on
the laptop screen i can drag it right
off the edge of my laptop screen and it
slides over onto the projector screen of
course when you're watching this on
youtube it just looks like I slid it
over onto an extension of the screen
because virtually that's what happens
but when you're sitting here watching
this in in the roommates physically
connected to a projector you actually
see the powerpoint jumps over onto the
other other projector screen when we put
using PowerPoint in this mode a good
thing to do is use the presenter view so
you can see we're setting that up now
and this gives us some some very special
features of PowerPoint you can see now
on the right
what you're seeing on the right is what
I'm seeing on the projector and on the
Left I have some special tools on my own
private laptop screen that i can get
additional information about the video
the presentation that i'm giving you can
see that I have notes if I wrote notes
on the slides those are visible also i
can i can see the next and previous
slides down below and this is also
really useful because i can open files
or do things on my computer without
distracting the people that are watching
the video in this case for example I can
browse files if I want to play music
along with the presentation i can work
very freely on my own computer and I
don't need to worry about distracting
the people who are watching my
presentation so once we've got that set
up now let's look at some of the other
things that we get from this very
special setup of our . so here I start a
presentation and you can see that we
have this nice preview on the left on my
laptop screen
and once again there's nothing
distracting for the people watching the
presentation but i have this extra
information I get to see my notes that
I've written to myself without needing
to distract the viewers with that
another really useful thing is that if
this allows us to jump ahead or jump
back in the timeline without clicking
through each slide it also helps us to
see the ordering of the slides more
clearly and we can we can preview other
sections of the timelines that once
again the people watching the
presentation will not see
let's look at how the animations work
you can see that on the arm on the
projector view all the animations are
showing in the normal way but when we
look at the the presenter view which is
on my own private laptop screen those
animations are shown it just changes
immediately from one slide to the next
or if text appears it appears instantly
rather than using animation
so there are some some other useful
things about this this kind of view in
addition to giving us that the more
static view of the content so we won't
be distracted by the animations we also
have the ability to edit slides even
while we're showing the presentation so
here's an example and gonna fix a title
of this slide having some problems is
typing Vietnamese text their codes
it's a let's try another thing here will
will open a video and now it's playing
privately on my own laptop screen but I
can preview the video and hear it before
I transfer it over to the screen to show
to the people who are watching the
presentation
let's say that now I want to close this
presentation and open a different one
once again this shows a very nice clean
graphical view to the people watching
the presentation in this case I've
closed the presentation and opened a
different one and on the slide projector
screen all they see is that the
presentation disappears they see that
the desktop background and then they see
the next presentation all of the actions
that are doing on my computer are hidden
from them
of course that may not always be
necessary to hide those things from them
but if you want to present a really
clean polished presentation it's very
nice to have that let's look at another
feature that we can we can access not
with PowerPoint but with the windows
itself
let's say that I want to change this
setup so that instead of having my
laptop screen be the main screen I can
make my projector screen be the main
screen so that's what I've done now and
now we can see that the projector screen
has become the main screen let's review
how I went from the regular set up to
the dual screen setup so the first thing
that I did was to right click on the
desktop and go into screen resolution
inside of that under multiple displays I
said extend these displays and press ok
the next thing I do is in power . i want
to slide show and then setup slideshow
in here i want to monitor content on a
generic pnp monitor and show presenter
view
so that's all we need to do thanks for
watching
boy don't be a
