welcome to Podcast number 12 in the
PowerPoint workshop in this podcast will
be looking at the use of the jewel
monitor a fantastic function inside
powerpoint that allows you to see one
thing on the public to see another
so let's get started first of all on
using two monitors you may access
programs that the audience cannot see
that may use present 82 view first we
need to select extend screen now to do
this you should use Kinect screen in
screen properties of windows or use the
special windows key on your keyboard
together with pee when you do this and
ribbon bar will appear
you must select extend on the ribbon bar
if extends does not appear on the river
by your computer is not compatible then
you select the tab presentation with
slides in powerpoint you click on the
menu configuration of the presentation
with slides so here we have presentation
with slides and then we click on
configuration of the presentation with
slides this will cause a box to appear
and this is the box i want you to have a
look at this section of the box now
slightly larger it looks like this we
have to select presentation view and
then choose show presentation on monitor
to you probably will have two monitors
principal monitor on main monitor had
monitored to monitor to is a
supplementary monitor main or principal
monitor is the screen of your computer
itself now have a look at this section
here you probably have to do nothing
because probably by default is already
is chosen but what you have to do is
make sure that you have chosen type of
presentation given by a speaker full
screen once we've done this and we run
the presentation with f5 as norwell will
see this screen and they'll see
the normal screen here we can see on the
left
what the audience is seeing at the
bottom we have a ribbon bar where we can
navigate through all the presentation
and on the right
any notes we wrote under the
presentation in design mode now appear
here and we can read them this note
panel can be slid from side to side and
made larger or smaller by grabbing the
dividers between the different parts of
the screen now i'll show you what I've
just explained with PowerPoint but using
PowerPoint so here we are inside the
presentation we want to give now the
first thing we do is press the special
key and P night you can see at the
moment it says only this machine we have
duplicate and extend and only projector
let's go through what these are only
projected is fairly obvious the screen
our computer will go black and the
projector will see what we would
normally see extend allows the two
computers the computer and the screen to
have different things
duplicate means that we will see exactly
the same on our screen as on the
projector so in this case we wish to
change to extend then we extend the team
now once we've done this we go to a
presentation with slights and we go to
configure ate the presentation here this
pretty appears and we check that we have
monitor too and in this case we need to
check on this bar here to say that we're
going to use the monitor view we have a
look at the top part
and he's in full screen already so that
is all okay and everything's perfect we
press accept and we're ready to go
we are now configured so that anything
we write inside the notes and notes are
down here notes i have written anything
inside here now will appear in the notes
section when we try to watch this on the
screen at here we have it
this is the full screen that we would
normally see the notes they have written
are here now I recommend you zoom in to
make them bigger so you can see them but
at the same time use the mouse to take
hold of these sidebars and make them
smaller giving you more space for your
notes maybe the bottom part and that's
important to make that smaller as well
so now we can see the notes as we go
through we can see here on the left but
the public is seeing we have on the
bottom here a bar where we can navigate
we also have a slide with Iran and the
time we've spent the time can be very
very important if you only have 10
minutes to give a presentation or 15
minutes we can follow it down here we
can always zoom in or zoom out using the
zoom buttons on our notes but i
recommend not writing too much notice
that if you use the six by seven rule
given in other our presentations then
you will know that the amount of notes
you have will correspond to your 6 x 7
room or less and you shouldn't have too
much per slide so that's how to use
moderator view hope you enjoy it and I'm
looking forward to seeing your
presentations
goodbye
