BMW Gear Shift Assist Pro Review

Since first trying a quickshifter on the Panigale 899 and then having fitted one to the Street Triple R it was only a matter of time until the BMW got the same treatment....but "Gear Shift Assist Pro" is much more then a common or garden up shifter....

now as you may know i'm a big fan of
quick shift is on motorcycles
i recently tested the Panigale 89 on
which had a quick shifter that's the
first time I've ever ridden with one
really enjoyed that
that's better be going to go ahead and
buy a quick shifter for these Trump
street triple r and I've really been
enjoying riding with the last few months
it was just a matter of time before i
went ahead and purchased the BMW version
for the big GS
now the thing with BMWs they do it
slightly different first of all they
call it get she assists propia shift is
this pro i would so rather than just a
quick shifter and the reason for that is
because as a primary difference to the
other quick shift is that are on the
market and that allows you to not only
and clutches the upshift but also
consciously downshift a very very clever
system like the others it kind of it
uses a strain gauge to detect any one
option just cuts the ignition very
quickly while you're up shifting so the
Arkansas match you don't need a machine
to the engine and its neck stood up
again when you downshift effectively
performs an automatic double D clutch
for you and that sometimes it's called
Auto blipping it revs the engine little
bit for you and it and it seamlessly
changes down gear when you've got the
throttle idol and it makes a great noise
when it does it's great fun to ride with

and I thought it just worked before we

actually looks like on the bike so if i

pro installed is this extra little unit
that fits in
where the linkage was previously and if
I just move the lever that you can see
that moves as well and that replaced the
linkage
there's also an electronic connector on
there and that does that does the clever
wizardry that allows you to upshift and
downshift and without using the clutch
and when you actually have this done as
well it's worth mentioning this isn't a
DIY install lock is on some of the other
box is not just plug and play
there is a there is an element of
software free program that has to be
done as well so it has to be done at
dealer so hence it will become to be
expensive but there we go
what price funny so no that's the BMW
gearshift assist pro is available on the
GS is available so on some of the other
bugs the RT and also on the sports box
