how to set a password for an Excel
worksheet or a workbook and also how to
remove a password if you already have
one on it i have been excels workbook
open here and a worksheet and I'm want
to set a password so that no one can see
this or get into it
accept me or anyone who knows my
password and the first thing we'll do is
just go up to the Microsoft Office
button up in the upper left to click it
and come down to prepare and click on
and crypt document it will bring up a
box for we can enter our password so
let's just put in a password click OK
it'll ask us to reenter it just to be
sure we're right click ok and that's it
this workbook is now protected by
password and i'll show you what that
means if we close it out
ok it is now password protected if i try
to open it up here to just open it up
this was the one it was and you see that
it won't open without us putting our
password and so if I talk to password in
click ok and there it is and that's all
there is to it to set up the pass work
now if you already have a password and
you don't want to have the password on
there we basically do just about the
same thing we go up to the office button
click it and come down to prepare again
and to encrypt document and this time it
gives us the box but our password is
already in it and all we have to do is
delete it just not just highlight it and
hit the Delete key and click ok and we
are no longer password protected so if I
close out now and now i try to open this
workbook you see that it opens without a
password and that's all there is to
removing a password and that's about it
