show you this program that i found on
the internet it's called recuva looks
like it said like that but it's actually
recover
ok well what it does is it recovers
files that you've deleted
ok so what I'm going to do is show you
how to use it so double click on it now
I'm just going to go down to the bottom
and i'm going to say next because it's a
wizard
ok and now it gives me a choice
what sort of file are you trying to
recover pictures music documents video
or other
now i'm just going to choose pictures
i'm just going to show you an example
ok so press next now it says where's the
file located i'm not sure on a media
card in my documents in my recycle bin
or in a specific location
now i'm just going to choose my recycle
bin because that's a pretty common thing
people do is delete the recycle bin
ok
ok so now it says it's ready to search
your files now if you press that their
enabled deep scan
it's going to take a long time so we're
just going to go through and do it
normally right so here we go it's
scanning my stuff here
ok it's just finished it didn't take
that long at all probably about to tape
that three minutes I'd say so what it's
done is it's come up with heaps and
heaps of pictures actually scanned all
my drives i'll just show you what it
says down the bottom it found 7540 not
files okay now that's totally overboard
now what I'm going to do is go out and
save switch to advanced mode because I
see it at least four min so we're going
to come over here now
here when it is green like that that
means it's okay to recover
now when it's red I'm just going to
scroll over to the side and it says
unrecoverable
ok this file is overwritten and it tells
you what it's been overwritten with ok
now this the grain one was excellent No
written clusters detected so you've got
an excellent chance of recovering it
ok now i mean i can scroll down there's
Hapes of files here now what I did
these are actually he fragged my
computer before hand so definitely some
of these files are going to be
overwritten
ok now i can compare the show you which
one of defrag ok I'm just going to scan
it again just by itself
it won't be too long very guy now this
is the one of defrag to this drive so
there's definitely a lot that you can't
get back okay
and it will tell you over here on
recovery
yep yep this one's okay excellent fine
here and it tells you what it's
overwritten with ya
ok so now i'm going to go and change the
drive again now this drive here I didn't
defrag
ok now not that there's many pictures on
here but see how it's all fine and can
be recovered
ok I don't know also go after the side
here to drop down menu and find other
yeah files so let's try documents
ok now these are the documents on this
day drive and this is the drive that I
haven't day Frank
ok so it's just hate this stuff there
because i actually cleaned it out
ok these are all documents that i had on
there now what I'm going to do is do the
same thing to see
just slightly but this time I'm scanning
it for documents not pictures
ok now see here we've got a bit dodgy
here and very poor and unrecoverable
ok that is because I did defrag 'it
right now what I'm going to do is I'll
go back to
d drive because we know it can get stuff
back off their we're going to scan it
again
ok there it is now also what you can do
is click on
I a document here and sometimes you can
get a preview of it in the other window
it's usually with pictures that you get
the best preview
ok so now i will show you how to recover
a document ok so
I'll just press on something
okay i'm gonna to get there
and then I'm going to go down the bottom
and i'm going to press recover
and it says where would you like to put
the fold up
now i'm going to put it in my documents
ok and I'm going to go down the bottom
and press ok ok
right now i'm going to quickly open my
documents here here and here it is here
just wait one minute
there it is
that's the file that I just recovered ok
so i'm just going to open it up and make
sure it's okay
right ok looks like it worked out fine
