Routing - Lesson 1 - CCNA (200-120) or CCNAX

This lesson is 1 of several that will be posted here for the Routing course. We will cover everything from connecting to a router, configuring administrative tasks on the router, learning the routers internal components such as RAM, ROM, NVRAM and FLASH, learning how to manipulate the Registers on the router, backing up configurations, using the CDP protocol, and all aspects of Static, Default and Dynamic routing.

Students will get a thorough understanding of how the routing process actually works.
They will learn how to configure all internetworking components using the Cisco Packet Tracer. They will also be configuring RIPv2, EIGRP and OSPF and understand how to manipulate each routing protocols attributes to meet the requirements of the network.

diaz and i want to welcome you to the
router configuration and writer
administration course
now this is a very important course this
is the core of cisco which is routing

start getting into all the different
labs and configurations is a different
types of certifications
we still are taking the CCNA 640 able to
ok not until october first
do you have to take the 200 - 120 or the
CCNA x one thing that I always tell my
students I recommend that you take only
one test one test only let me bring up a
firefight
yeah they bring up no fag ok we're being

640
- 80 - at this moment

I really don't agree or I wouldn't
suggest for you to take to test
I know the cisco academy separates into
icnd1 and icnd2 that's not the way I
teach it where the actual classrooms

I'm you know doing classes like this
take with the one test
there's no need for it to break down to
test and let me tell you why because if
you break it down into test
you want to get a lot more detailed
questions now i'm not trying to say hey
the other one is easier but the whole
point is to passing this test
all right if you take
to test they're going to give you a lot
more questions than they would in want
us now I don't know about you but first
of all I want to do one test and get it
over with
that's for me taking tests I get like
this I get all shaky i wanna throw up i
get all pale
I'm a very bad test taker I hate taking
time okay but we gotta do what we gotta
get that little piece of paper that
brings us into the door to these jobs
all right but I always tell my students
listen forget about taking the icnd1 in
the icnd2 is going to cost you more
anyway in the long run and just going to
ask you a lot more questions
ok now with a 640 able to even increase
the time
it used to be 90 minutes to take this
test 456 questions
all right now they're giving you a
hundred ten minutes to take the test we
have plenty of time
all right if you studied and done the
work to take this exam
the average time that my guys are done
with their test
I don't think they go not even to 90
minute there like around one guy to get
in about 16 an hour a little bit over an
hour
that's about it took this time make sure
you got everything right but remember
you can click back
all right but you can still take this
test but the new test is coming on to
her first
what does that mean that that's it yours
is going to expire your knowledge is
going to go away
of course not of course not this is
something in the industry wants to put
back out there
I saw you getting all they're making a
little bit harder
they're putting maybe more ipv6 which I
did look into the new book the only
cisco press has all right for the new
CCNA and including a lot more ipv6 as
far as you know in their core study and
they're not including more VPN
all right but now it's essentially the
same
now this either labs all right they're

so definitely will be talking in this
course a lot about geography
alright so again you have to rush and
take the new test

comptia doesn't want you to take the A
plus whatever plus if you already took
it away back then there's want you to

certification because not everybody is
doing that every soft in three years or
five years with the case may be you have
to renew your certification

worry don't be in a hurry my god these
certifications coming out to refer to

you still have all your material for
that you can take that if you don't
think the new test ok

more things on ipv6 i want to give you
everything you need on ipv6 gonna be
subnetting and ipv6 when I put my course
out there so it's no big deal you're
going to need you to get everything you
need and ipv6 you are going to tell you
things you need for VPN all that you
want to get all that through all my
videos
all right but again you have a choice
just because certification is changing
don't worry about unless your employer
says a you need a new certification
because you because it was like okay all
right I'll go take it you're paying for
it right now go take it
alright so again take the six 4802 is
one test you can take either the 220 i
think i remember correctly
are you can take it in two steps also
the new CCNA or you can take what they
called me are the races real quick
they have the sea what if i get the

ok trust me you read the book that you
have probably already from cisco press
extremely if you can pass the cisco
academy you can pass the certification
cisco does a very good job and going
into so much detail into everything that
you will be overly prepared for the CCNA
certification
mr. Tom Ally's book ok which is the one
that I I are used my classes I base my
classes on his book the CCNA
certification guide preparation guy is
geared towards the certification you
read the book cover-to-cover do all the
labs
listen to the lectures do my labs you'll
be more than prepared to take that
certification again take one test with
that with the questions I'm going to
show you now warming again
take one certification exam and don't
rush to try and take the new one
all right you have your CCNA now put
that on your resume
yeah I know how to configure routers yes
I know I p
so you'll know you'll have the knowledge
they say oh ok well you know will hire
you and then I'll can you upgrade your
vacation anytime soon
and you're like oh ok sure not a problem
all right but the whole thing is to get
the certification
alright so if you want to study and you
want to wait to talk to her first that's
fine but the concept of routing of the
concept surrounding that they may have a
little bit more ipv6 a little bit more
on
on VPN okay all right some little
different labs on

make the CCNA like the ccnp you don't
know i may give you some material for
the ccnp but again they're not going to
do that

calculate that because more important
things that they talked about within the

add an extra router but that was not
communicating and they're one of the
