and man I'm really excited to show you
this product
that we have here I'm going to use
training on it
its brand new as a
March 2012 %uh called the product
attributes manager
and basically with this allows you to do
is manage the
not commerce on attributes that are
defined for each variant now if you've
ever worked in
not commerce have I'm attributes to
fine to each variant you know basically
that
each attribute is tied to a
specific variant and you have to repeat
attribute for every variant that you
have
know what we've done here is actually
allowed you to create
group's attributes and let you drag drop
those
to assign those two products show you
that is too many
here so this is just going to save
folks so much time if they're
if they have attributes and they're not
commerce stores
so want to show you how it works
basically
I'm this is in to got 40
it will be a standalone product called

basically click on product attributes
manager in the products menu
and you get a
a pain with basically

the product list
you can select any product it does do
wild cards as well as you can search by
skew price category whatever this is all

attributes

create them

start populating are attributes
so we have five sizes weird
for saying sources start adding them
and basically when you get to to add it
is basically press Enter
and click up in here again the price
way to just might have to be Merrick the
pre-selected has to be true or false
and on doing is just adding the codes
for the attribute tree I think medicare

our size that we defined in our size

it will have those attributes it'll be
just fine
follow every not commerce data rule
so we did the size notes to the color
site
1 through 100 again and
but
okay see what I did there I selected
that and
to check box appears to show the
products that use this attribute
when selected I need unchecked because
the color has been defined to any
products yet
so let's go get our products 1 through
100 again
again we click on the first one
or shift button down select the last one
and now decided size drag and drop

so came back now we go look at product
number one sees q1
there's are attributes size bizarre
attribute color
to prove that it works
let's go down through 100 pairs 100
size
and there it is for color right now
the real test is gonna be how does show
up at the store
so let's do a search on
product 100

with a just generic image

comes when we want to make a change in
not commerce
you would have to go through every one
of these products
and I'll say we're going to we're gonna
change

eight dollars you have to go through
every one of these products that
the use this attribute are double double

change now basically duty def do that a
hundred times
with this you gonna do it in one place
in a way you do that basically is you
edit it and to edit you point to the so
you want you

attribute manager just did it go through
and find all the products that use this
size group
and update right
so now it doesn't this great doesn't
necessarily
automatically update inertia lacked this
right so when you to refresh
and we're gonna go to product

same thing for product 100

apply it to one color

managing these products a little bit
difficult because now we have

only have it for one product K
it only updated that one product and i

better practice
probably would have been to create
another color attributes or color group
on in and
just basically drag that too
product 50 you know so you still have
consistency between you know your army
color set and
white products 1 through 49
and 53 100 say
verses the SEC out a little bit

every single product just in a scenario
we did
we to products 1 through 100 so we had
100 products
and we have 5 sizes
and four color sets to total with nine
per
per product that would have been 900
entries or nine hundred lines even if we
import these through through Excel that
would have been nine hundred lines in
Excel
just at the attributes to these products
with this we did in
minutes so anyway
