Convert PDF to Word - Windows Version

If you have a PDF and need to convert it to Word here is how you can do it in Windows, atlhough the same applies to the Mac and I have created a tutorial for that too. so you might have a PDF just like the
one I've got here and you want to
convert it into words that you could
edit and potentially make changes that
you want safe back to a PDF and you can
take the information from here and put
it into words and there are various
degrees of how well that can work
now this is it windows but you might
want to do this in a mac and if you're
using a Mac I do have a different
tutorial however a lot of what I'm going
to do here applies to a Mac as well so
here's my PDF
it's open Adobe Reader which is free and
available on the adobe.com website and
we'll take a look at that in just a
moment
there's a few ways that I can actually
get that information into words
one of them is I could go up into tools
just over here and you'll see it comes
up with export PDF at the top if that's
not visible like that
just click on that little triangle there
and it will expand it out
you want to convert it to word and you
could just choose to put it into rich
text which is less of the formatting
that you would have in Word or into
excel or into an older version of word
the problem is when you hit convert
you've got a sign up you've got to pay
for this service and that's with Adobe
the people who actually create pdfs in
the first place
look a little trick for doing that if
you've just got to kind of one off and
you don't want to pay for anything so
I'm just gonna close that up
and by the way that does work very well
so the other options i've got is here is
my logo at the top here so I've got an
image in here so I could just click on
it you see it selected it
I could now right-click choose copy

I'm just going to open up word and
you've got a blank documents and I could
just click on paste him and you can copy
and paste
however you like it if you used to use
shortcut keys you can
use those two so I'm just going to go
back to my PDF because now i want to get
this text so I could do that by just
simply highlighting it so I now get
going to edit and choose copy
I could have right clicked in chosen
copy the other thing I could have done
as if I've got a lot of takes two are
going into edits done select all selects
all my texts and again just copied
however I wanted to do but they go to
word i'm not going to just go down a few
lines
I'm now just going to hit paste and
you'll see it has actually done a great
job
the text is there but you've basically
got one word per liner hasn't actually
done a particularly good job
sometimes it does and sometimes you
don't get quite the result that you want
I have to say that using it on a mac and
doing the same thing from adobe reader
and in days as well you can take it from
preview it does a lot better job you
don't have it all on one line and in
fact very little to change but again
that will depend on what you've got in
there tables of all sorts of things like
that
this would be very tedious to go and
change so what are my other options well
I could use adobe acrobat pro so here is
the website for adobe and you'll see the
top here it's got download and you've
got product trials and you get a 30 day
trial which is the full version
so if i wanted to i could go over to
here adobe acrobat 11pro and choose try
and then just follow the instructions
you need to set up an account which is
basically just an email address and a
password and you can try for 30 days and
have to say was very well so we're going
to have a look at that in a moment
i also mentioned you should also have
the latest version of adobe reader and
again that's in the downloads go to
adobe reader and you can do the download
now and it's up to you with you want to
install Chrome
and the google toolbar I tend to not
like these toolbars so I'm take these
ok so that's where you can get it from
from the website now i've already
downloaded it
i am using the trial and here is a adobe
acrobat pro and what I'm going to do is
I'm going to open up that file which
I've got on the desktop so i just go to
file open on my desktop here and here it
is
how to extract text and pictures that's
the name of my PDF here it is
it looks very similar to the adobe
reader I'm not going to go into file and
choose save as other and in this case
I'm going to go from Microsoft Word you
can see there's various options such as
a spreadsheet excel xml powerpoint
presentation you can see you can turn it
into a web page and so on
I'm go back to microsoft word i'm going
to choose a word document not the
97-2003 version and i'm going to save it
onto my desktop you can see it's already
given it a file name with da cakes at
the end and I could change that so that
will begin to my desktop hit save and it
flashed up very quickly down the bottom
here saying that it was exporting if you
have a big document you might see that
it's exporting page by page i recently
had gone with a couple hundred pages in
there and it did take a little bit of
time to do so what I'm going to do now
I'm not going to go back to my desktop
and you can see here I've now got this
far that I've just saved and i'm just
going to double click to open it relates
to word 2013 but it does exactly the
same thing on any of the versions are
going to try to on 2010 as well and you
can see this is my document this is what
it created using adobe acrobat pro so
that's a little tip if you just go to
one offer a few to do and you can do it
within 30 days when we're going to get
the free trial if you need to use a lot
well then you might want to consider
buying it and you might actually think
that it's very worthwhile
I have to say that this is probably from
all the ones i have tried the most
reliable version however if you do not
one that is better
