This video will demonstrate how to recover administrative access after losing the password of a HP V1910-48G switch. (JE00A)
Network diagram
Step 01 – Access the console, Step 02 – Define a new password, Step 03 – Access the switch
Turn off the HP switch, connect the console cable between your switch and the serial port of your computer and turn it on.
Download the software putty .
Set you putty to use the following configuration: Serial connectiom, serial line COM1, Speed 38400. If serial line COM1 does not work try COM2 and so on
During the switch startup, press [Ctrl + B] keys to access the boot menu
In the first menu, select option 7.
In the second menu, select option 0.
Type the following command to apply the factory default settings.
Enter the following command to set a new management IP address.
Enter the following command to set a new management IP address.
Open your browser, enter the IP address of your HP switch and access its Web Interface.You must login using an account with administrative privileges.
