Add a butotn to a wordpress website.

okay i want to go ahead and add a button
to one of my pages i'm going to click on
my specials page we've been working with
and I want to add a button right down
here at the bottom of this content
paragraph so let's jump in to the back
and go to pages find our specials page
click Edit and again this is what I'm
going to show you is themed specific
this particular theme music shortcodes
and with this theme it actually
installed a new button that i can get to
my short code list pretty quickly and
easily so here's my three columns and if
you remember the columns render
differently on the actual live page than
what we see here in the content area in
the content area they are stacked so
here's my first column my second column
and my third column here all right i
want to go ahead and add a button here
to the end of my third column and just
going to place my cursor right here
before the most last with square bracket
and hit return and then hit return one
more time i had this new line right here
and this is where I want to ensure my
button going to go over here to my
shortcodes button since my team has won
and i'm going to pull open the dialog
drop-down box here and here is button
i'll select that click insert now I have
a new short code inside of my short code
for my column right here button link
equals quote pounds on it's just a
placeholder in quote and bracket and
read more and then my new bracket slash
button that tells me
here's where the button starts here's
where the button ends now the read more
is showing me this is the label of the
button so i haven't done anything except
just insert the short code for right now
and then go ahead and click on preview
and let's just take a quick peek
what that looks like so here's our page
i'll come down here and now here's our
new
it does it's not linked to anything and
it says read more
ok let me close that and now what I'm
going to do is I'm just going to change
this label and i'm going to say click
here is what i want to call it a label
and i'll click preview again and now
when we look at our button we can say it
now says click here we just change the
label over here is used to say read more
it now says click here all right now I
want to go ahead and lake my button it's
got to go somewhere whenever I click on
it so let me open up a new page here and
i'm just going to use google just want
my button to go to the Google homepage
and what I'm going to do is I mean the
actual address of where I want the
button to go to so I'm just going to
click and highlight this address right
here and copy it come back over here to
my page in the content area and again
here's this little pound sign
that's just a placeholder i'm going to
highlight that hit delete and in between
these two quotes i'm going to hit paste
and here is the address so whenever I
click on this button this is the address
this is the action that it's going to do
it's going to link me to this page and I
have to make sure that i put in HTTP
colon slash slash for the full address
especially when i'm going to a different
website want to make sure that i have
that so there won't be any chance of it
failing without the HTTP in there so
that's what we do we just highlight the
address that we want to use up here on
our address bar copy come over here and
we find where the link address is and we
just hit paste that looks good so in the
preview come down here and whenever I
click on my button
yes it sure enough takes me to google ok
everything seems to be working good so
i'm going to go ahead and click update
this will save and publish my page live
and so here's our page now when i
refresh here is our new button and i
will go ahead and click and yes it does
take me back to google so we've just
added a button using some short codes
that come with the thing
