Galaxy S5 vs iPhone 5S - Speed Test

what's up guys in this video we're going
to be doing a speed test of the new
Galaxy s5 versus the iphone 5s
so what are we doing this test is
comparing like boot times opening some
apps like browsing the web
I would do some benchmark test me test
up like that are pretty much just going
to compare the speed and performance of
these two phones had the head
so these phones are offering out so
first thing we're gonna do is a boot
test
so I'm gonna hit the power button is on
both these phones at the same time here
we go
three two one give it a second
and let's see which one boots up the
fastest so they're both on the library
now looks like the galaxy s5 is doing
something here
still got the apple logo there's the
little samsung start screen still
waiting
and there we go the samsung galaxy s5 is
booted up and i'm home screen and we're
still waiting on iphone 5s
yes I know the galaxy s5 my battery
cover and there we go
there's iphone 5s so there you go
there's a little test of the boot time
over the next step we're going to see
how fast the camera was up from the lock
screen both have the little camera icon
where you can swipe up there somebody go
ahead and do that at the same time as
you see that if you notice that the
iphone 5s camera loaded up just a little
bit faster than the galaxy s5 camera did
which can actually make a big difference
a little half a second there I could be
a difference of snapping a picture or
not having to make sure if you're trying
to get something that's happening at the
moment also going to take a picture here
from the front facing cameras see how
fast does that
three two one and it looked like it was
about the same time i will go ahead and
tap on the pictures right there and I
followed it up just a little faster than
the galaxy s5 did not show you this is a
fair test i went ahead
in force quit all the apps running in
the background on both phones and what I
did was went ahead and made a page on
both phones all the icons and apps and
stuff that I'm gonna be opening in this
video so here they are
and the first thing we're gonna take a
look at is gaming not necessarily gaming
but just how fast games open up and load
on both these phones in the first 1i
they were going to open up his family is
I'm not trying to tap on both of these
at the exact same time
hopefully it works out three two one
and there were two gether both loading
up looks like the iphone is a little bit
ahead a good with the head actually
there's game center loading up on it and
the galaxy s5 is finally there
so the iphone has asked me to go and do
stuff and galaxy s5 is caught up with it
now so there we go
as you seeing the family got game
actually loaded up a little bit faster
I'll iphone 5s now remember this is a
bigger screen so it's going to have to
put more pixels and stuff like that so
it is really hard for the galaxy s5 but
just that's the demo just how fast opens
up with family I game
next up we're going to open up for a
ninja here we go three two one
so it looks like the galaxy s5 when you
actually capital i contour that opens up
as a little bit too late there but
actually beat out the game wants to have
actually got open
I to load up like the game menu and
stuff like that are going to swipe to do
a new game about to these
there we go looks like it's about the
same actually look like iphone get out
of there
we'll go ahead and started a game is to
classic and every other iphone is just a
little bit faster and for the last game
or going to subway surfers here we go
three two one so it looks like the the
galaxy s5 did something weird there now
the iphone 5 is already loading it up in
the galaxy s5 is trying to catch up now
i'm going to close that ad and their
guests as you've seen the iphone 5
I beat it out to opening up subway
surfers just a few seconds are going to
have to play a few loads up fast that
way it looks like it's about the same
that's there's not too much of a
difference is a little bit different on
low time but other than that I yet not
be going to do everything from gaming
going to open up a couple apps and the
first one I'll check out is food plus so
you get an idea of just how fast some
video content
load so here we go three two one there

it's like the iphone is already loaded
up there all right we got the same shirt
right there i know that's a little bit
different i said i could be factored
into like how fast a low
this is just to give you a good idea so
I'm gonna tap on the show the same time
and see which one actually loads up and
starts playing first
so it looks like the iphone is again a
little bit ahead and faster than the
galaxy s5 they're just trying to load of
the show now and iPhone 5 is already
flying it
next we're going to open up its program
see how fast that loads up so it looks
like the galaxy s5 actually beat it out
there a little bit above the vote up
pretty quickly
I'll iphones lighting up a little bit
here I'm going to tap the home button
and now we will try Twitter and so to
social media apps it's probably like you
guys use three two one and it looks like
the galaxy s5 again be it's already
loaded on my tweets hear the same thing
on my phone but it was a little bit
faster out there on the galaxy s5
it's not really a big of a difference
but really to have a second / life of
the time use your phone will add up so
it is really a big deal if you think
about it that way
and what happened to show you guys is
the photos at moes these phones because
one thing I noticed on the galaxy s5 is
the gallery or the Photos app is really
slow at times
that's when compared to the photos at
only iphone 5s now take into account
these are two different photos
I ass and they've all got different
pictures up in them this will just give
you a little bit of an idea so here we
go

as you see an iphone was just a little
bit faster I'm going to have only camera
or both these phones and go ahead and
actually tap on the picture i took a
little bit earlier so here we go
three two one and there you have seen
iphone 5s is just a little bit faster
I wish to me does make a big difference
alright the next thing I look at is web
browsing about these phones and we
actually using the chrome app does
that's what i like to use and the
iphones got this party at
then the galaxy s5 has its own browser
is that way it makes it a little more
fair and that's just what I want to see
here we go

looks like the galaxy s5 BTW i phone 5s
to load of the browser there and now as
you see I've got these three little

desktop site is that what it actually
loads up the full side rather than just
the mobile version so here we go

both these phones
there we go to iphone 5s actually beat
it out there that's not done loading yet
but it's almost there by for the galaxy
s5 still trying to load and I think it's
pretty much done now i am going to make
a new tab and go back to the bookmarks
we'll go ahead and try to load up the
verge here so here we go three two one
and it looks like the iPhone 5s is done
and there's a galaxy s5 trying to catch
up
and there you have both pages are loaded
I love them over to the side there
now there you give you a quick little
idea I just how fast web browsing is it
seem like most of the time the iphone 5s
is just a hair faster than the galaxy s5
remember that does mean iphone 5s is
faster when it comes to loading stuff
that we can actually test which one has
the faster download speed now both these
phones are on Wi-Fi i do have a sim card
in this one over there connect to Wi-Fi
right now so it was open the speed test
app i'm gonna go ahead and allow it to
use my current location
I'll go ahead and hit OK there and what
I'm going to do is I'm going to begin
this test and what it's going to do is
it's going to test how fast my internet
speed is over Wi-Fi here we go
three two one and let's begin test
I just to see if they get the same speed
they're pretty much the same location
I there we go it's getting about 32 down
my internet
it supposedly is a 30 down five up it
can be better than that and a lot of
times worse than that but we'll see what
happens
looks like the iphone is getting only
2.8 down
wow that is a big difference right there
they're going to speed up a little bit
looks like we got all the way up to six
down compared to 33 down on galaxy s5
that is a big difference
now it's going ahead and doing uh so for
the up and iphone 5s which already
finished
I got two point seven and on the galaxy
s5 I got almost right at five
so you see that's a pretty good
comparison right there just to show you
how much faster downloads are supposedly
according to this app only galaxy s5
compared to the iphone 5s that actually
surprised me i didn't expect that speed
has to be that much different now we're
going to the bench part of these phones
are using the Geekbench 3 apps and we're
going to open these up on this phone a
little bit different it doesn't like my
best of it pretty much does the exact
same things here we go
three two one could tap around the
benchmarks and we're going to let that
finish and we're going to see what the
scores are with iphone 5s head-to-head
with the galaxy s5 the iphone is done
now it's got a score of the single core
score 1411
and the multi-core score is 2572 the
galaxy s5 we're still waiting alright a
few seconds later the galaxy s5 is done
now for the single course for we've got
974
so you see the iphone just worked its by
their that when it comes to the
multi-core score the galaxy s5 get 3219
so I immediately comes to the multi-core
on the galaxy s5 gotta warn you i have
heard the samsung you like beef up these
benchmark test when you're right now and
stuff like that
how to make it seem like it performs
better but that's just to give you a
general idea
so they gotta just be test of the galaxy
s5 versus the eye
5s hopefully this video gives you a good
idea of just how much faster each one of
these phones are i doing different types
of things I don't remember there is lots
of variables signal account
I want to do a test like this i try to
make it as equal as possible about
clearing out all apps make sure number
running in the background clearing out
all the setting stuff like that but
that's the best i could do really like
it around the speed tests all over again
and get the exact opposite results but
that's just give you an idea so
