hey guys this is james from geek blog TV
and today I'm going to show you guys how
to scan for open ftp servers to find
little goodies so first basically we're
just going to pull up angry ip scanner
here i got it from angry ip dot org you
might have noticed that i did an article
about this already wants and I really
liked it so I figured it was worth of
video tutorial
ok so just try and make your settings
like I have mine here for the first time
and then after that you can go ahead and
change them around however you like and
see how they work so I'm sure you notice
that already has my local IP already
populated right here we're not going to
mess with that it doesn't really make a
difference what's in there but it's nice
to know where you are on the network so
i'm going to go 2000 right here for the
IP mass for the count
let's go ahead and make it 2,000 all
right we're gonna go to the settings
right here and since it'll pretty much
auto limit itself so i just put 10,000
right there that may be wrong for your
computer but you know just try whatever
works so import selection we're going to
port 21 since we're looking for ftp
servers for display we're going to do
hosts with open ports only because I'm
not too concerned with those that don't
have an open ftp server so we'll go
ahead and hit OK and cross our fingers
that it doesn't crash windows is not the
best environment to scan with it's
basically a crippled operating system in
that aspect so it's best to use this
from linux or something of that breed so
let's go ahead and hit start and see
what happens and i'll use some movie
magic to speed it up for you
alright guys and we're back as you can
see we have seven out of 1974 networks I
mean that's not bad considering that
just took about a minute right there
so what you can do is you can right
click this and you can go to open and
then depending on what you're scanning
for their you can choose you know like
ftp for example here and what it's going
to do is open up a browser now one of
several things will happen about fifty
percent of the time you get to a website
that has no ftp at all and i don't know
why that happens but at the other half
of the time you come to a website with a
login or password this doesn't
necessarily mean that it's not an open
open ftp ok i'm sure you'd be sure many
of you guys are aware that most router
firmware and things like that have
default passwords that are commonly
available online i'm not saying this is
what you should do
I'm just saying that this just increases
the chances of you getting into the ftp
server if you look at your surroundings
wisely so this one right here appears to
have the login and password
I'm not saying that the username and
password combo is it men password but
you know it's pretty likely these days
and anyway no breaking the law on
youtube so i hope you guys enjoyed the
video if you liked it go ahead and share
like and subscribe
feel free to come back and see me next
time let me know if you find anything
interesting in the comments if you'd
like you can try these different ports
here i don't know maybe just throwing
some juicy ports like 3389 443 80 and
8080 and see what kind of random stuff
we stumble across let me know what you
guys find in the comments and i'll be
happy to answer you let me know if you
have any requests for other tutorials
and i'll be seeing you guys next time
thanks for watching
