How to Convert AIFF to MP3 with iTunes

How to convert AIFF to MP3 using iTunes. I have iTunes version 10.1

hey guys in this video I'm going to show
you how to convert a iff music files to
mp3 using itunes version 10
I just updated so i have version 10.1
which you can download from Apple's site
I'll include a link at the bottom of the
video so first thing is make sure you
know where the aiff file is located the
1 i'm going to use is right here on my
desktop so go ahead then and open up
iTunes which is going to be in your dock
if you can't find it in your dock which
will be down here
let's see go up to the hourglass and
then just search itunes and click itunes
so how here we have the file you can go
about it two ways you can drop and drag
the file from the desktop click it once
drag it over and then release inside the
library
you could also click on file add to
library and then select the file from
your desktop
so here i just added a looming hurricane
song which is an aiff it's a really poor
quality to have your your music files
and it's very uncompressed its kind of
loose
mp3 is that much better make sure we're
going to have to do first is change our
encoder settings so go up to file and no
go over to iTunes
this is not okay here we go to
preferences on the general tab
you're going to go down about the third
of the page where it says import
settings where it says import using most
likely this is going to be on a AC for
you
could be on something else select mp3
encoder hit OK
hit OK again in the general tab
preferences and now back in itunes now
simply all you're going to do is right
click your song and it create mp3
version you'll then see at the top of
the page it is converting the song due
to could do and then once the song is
complete
there's going to be a duplicate version
below
so here is my original now here is the
new file so i'm going to right click
this new file which is the which is now
the mp3 and i'm going to hit show in
finder to find where this is located in
my computer and it brought it up mind
defaulted to my desktop years may go
somewhere else
so here's my file let's say just in case
it was in a folder
you know in itunes folder some folder
that i didn't use you know right click
and hit copy going to click on your
desktop and hit paste and here is my
song in mp3 format
