tech shorty where i show you in a very
short amount of time something about
your computer that maybe you did maybe
it didn't know how to do today we are
going to be talking about the absolute
best way to update adobe flash player on
your mac and the reason why this is so
important that you should all know how
to do is that unfortunately adobe flash
player is one of the most impersonating
pieces of software out there because it
constantly needs to be updated so what
happens is people out there who wish to
do your data harm create pop-ups that
look like this or this or this
those are all fake by the way they are
trying to get you to click on them to
install their software and many times it
ends up installing what is referred to
as adware adware can come in different
forms many times it causes random
pop-ups it may I hijack your web browser
it may change your home page or make it
so that when you go to google it looks
like google but that in google so i want
to show you the proper way to update
flash and by the way if you accidentally
did download one of those imposters
I will help you out and show you what to
do from there
so the way to update flash player on
your mac is through system preferences
go to the Apple icon at the very top
left corner of your Mac go down to
system preferences and down here at the
bottom left corner you should see it's a
flash player
now we will say that if you have already
installed flash
ok so it needs to already be on your
computer if you have never installed
flash
I will provide you a link in the
description of this video I will warn
you
please do not click on any links that
anyone else may submit in the comments
section
ok we don't screen them ok they any it's
an open forum anyone can type
so go into flash player the fourth tab
you see here is updates
ok and you can click right here where it
says check now
now even if you have this top option
here where you can allow adobe to
install updates
supposedly automatically you may still
get pop-ups saying that there is an
update available even if you get that
my advice is to hit cancel and then go
through system preferences
it is the most secure way because keep
in mind you can make a graphic of
anything you can make it look as you
know important as possible but this is
the absolute best way to do it
so from here you'd click right here
where it says check now and hopefully
you'll see that where it says no new
updates if there is an update
it's going to take you to adobe's
website where you're going to be able to
download the most recent version
now when you install it keep in mind is
going to download the installable file
into your downloads folder is you'd go
into finder go to downloads and you'd
see adobe flash somewhere in here
from there it's just a matter of typing
in your administrator password and you
should be good to go
keep in mind you can't have a safari or
any web browsers open while you're
updating flash it's going to force you
to quit them out now if you have
accidentally installed a fake copy of
adobe flash and you are getting what i
just described you're hitting those
pop-ups you're getting redirected from
websites that you're trying to visit
their take me to other websites
