yeah
yeah
I in this session we will see how to
test tcp IP connections by using the
ping command
so to test tcp IP connectivity by using
the pink man
use the display of IP conflict command
to ensure that your network adapter is
not in media disconnected state
so let us open command from and then
issue this command to open command
prompt go clicks tab go to all programs
accessories and click command from go to
the root directory and then issued the
command IP config and hit enter
you can see that IP address of a machine
is 10 . o . for . 12 and the default get
fear for my machine is 10 . or . or .
one
so now let us think the default gateway
and see if we are able to read it to
think the gate we write command King 10
. or . . one and then hit enter
if you get reply from the IP address
you're trying to ping
then you are surely able to reach it
you can also have a look at being status
takes 4 10 . o . for that one
when you have sent five four packets and
you have also received for back is there
was absolutely zero percent loss and
reaching this default gateway
there could be a possibility that your
machine is not hooked on the network in
such cases your media adapter for the
show and media disconnected in here let
me unhook this machine from the network
I just removed the machine from the
netflix i gotta pop up over here that
might network cable is unplugged
now let me issue the same command
ipconfig see now it's a that media is
disconnected
let me put it on the netbook the Machine
around and trying to sleep now
it is connected to my local area network
let me give the command a game
and I can see it is on to the impact now
let me try pinging google from this
machine so tingly she commands being the
bitter bluh bluh .
google.com and i hit enter
I can see that probably just trying
pinging google but not able to reach
will give some more time for the machine
to pry reach google see it has given up
and it has not been able to reach google
what could be the reason for them
let's go into the network properties of
this machine to go to network properties
click start
go to control panel
Oh been met bergen internet connections
and then click network connections
you will see the local area connection
right click it go to its properties
highlight internet protocol tcp IP and
click properties
you can see that there are the dns so
give it in over him 10 . pulled out or
10
so whenever you try being the google.com
this DNS server in here will try to
resolve this name to the IP address and
then forward all the data packets to
that IP address
I suspect that this DNS server is not
reachable from this machine
let's try pinging this DNS server i'll
set ping 10 dog
Oh . Oh . 10 and hit enter
see I am correct probably if it's a
request timeout
which means i am not able to reach this
DNS so what do i do now i need to give
an alternate dns server which is
probably up and running on my network
I know there is another one and i'll be
in 10 bard board or that one which is
another dns our on my network
I'll say okay they close
I can also go and see these settings
from IP conflict / r and it would tell
me that ok my IP addresses this and
Indiana souls i have not to dns servers
in here
I'm successfully able to ping 10 . or
that or that one
so now let us try to ping google back
again and see what happens
see the alternate dns address is able to
translate these name into the IP address
of google so this is the IP address of
google 74 that fun - fire - 36 38 40 and
my data packet from these wish this
machine is able to go and pink blue so
it is very important
even if your machine is on that word and
you're trying reaching some website not
able to reach the reason could be the
dns server in between might not be
accessed able
you should be having the right
configuration of dns server to test that
doping the dns servers which are listed
in your IP conflict / r and see if your
machine is able to reach them
that's pretty much it in this session
you are now successfully able to know
how to pink machine and how to check if
correct name resolution is happening
if not you can go and specify the dns
servers which are up and running and
reachable from your machine
thanks providing
