Convert AAC to MP3

If you can only play MP3 versions of podcasts, this is an easy, free way to convert audio files to MP3.

podcast my name is Michael mana and
today's screencast we're going to take a
look at how to convert an AAC file over
to mp3 now the reason why I'm showing
this because i got an e-mail or two from
Nicholas who listens to the show and
he's having a great deal of difficulty
getting AC files i'm assuming he's a
Windows user and he's actually using a
Windows PDA so all you need to do this
is basically iTunes which is free from
apple and then just go through and it's
pretty simple process that will take you
through right now so first let's open up
itunes and as you can see already have
the mp3 down here below the AC but i'ma
show you how to do it from the very
beginning itunes go into preferences now
for windows that should be I guess tools
and options not exactly sure but I'm
pretty sure that's what is going to
their now you have the general tab the
importing tab and burning tab now we
already have it on the importing tab
that's what you want go down to
importing import using now you have a
choice between AC aiff apple lossless
mp3 which is what we want to pick and
wave encoder so pick the mp3 and you can
go to good quality higher quality high
quality higher quality or you can
customize it which is basically and he
started a bit rate that you want so i
recommend if you're going to do that i
have a 64k / kilobits per second

mp3 has to be raised in order to get
some kind of qualities AC my opinion AC

better audio quality mp3 that's why

that's why i use AC as opposed to mp3 i
can put twice as many podcasts top and
have the same audio quality of not a
little bit better on on the podcast and
as you know we do as many podcasts as we

the mp3 but we're going to ignore that
this is the AAC file as you can see with
the summary and you see it's 19.6
megabit pot file with the 64 kilobit per
second bitrate well don't worry about

of file and ok out of that now in order
to convert the selection which you need
to keep highlighted the AAC file you go
up to advanced and it says convert
selection 2.mp3 that's all you have to
do itunes will do all the work after
that and you're done
and this is the finished file right here
i'm going to show you this is actually
128 kilobits per second so 96 should be
a little bit smaller but you can see
here have 128 this is almost 40 Meg so
it's more than two times larger meaning
AAC file but like i said before if your
user that once mp3 which we will have
available eventually auntie for show.com
for people to download mp3's but for now
this is a quick easy and free solution
to get mp3's onto your PDA or your
windows device that you want to use mp3
