How to convert DVD to MP4 with Handbrake (Quick)

This tutorial explains how to use the free Handbrake application to convert DVD format video to MP4 or M4V. It is a shorter, quicker version of my previous Handbrake DVD to MP4 tutorial.

It is a fairly long tutorial as I attempt to explain most of the settings I change!

Handbrake is free and available from www.handbrake.br

It can convert DVDs (either VIDEO_TS folders or ISO images) using either MP4 or MKV containers. Using MP4 you can choose an MPEG4 or H264 codec.

Handbrake can not process encrypted DVDs. You need to rip those DVDs to your hard drive (using DVDFab for example) or run a utility to provide decryption on-the-fly (using AnyDVD for example).

convert DVD files to mp4 using handbrake
