Hi folks! Today I'm going to show you how to speed up and clean your Mac.
There are several factors that can slow down your computer: too many applications open at the same time, too little RAM and of course, the tons of duplicates that waste space on your hard disk.

Once opened, this is how it looks. To perform the search you only need to select the locations you want to search in, which can be any folder or mounted disc, even through the network. It can even search in the iPhoto, iTunes, Aperture and Mail libraries. Then select the type of search. The searches are divided in 10 collections, depending upon their type. There's music, photos, applications and there are also searches for emails, movies and PDFs. You can switch to the Advanced Mode and select your own criteria to perform pretty much every kind of search you can imagine. I'll search for duplicate photos as an example.
The result will open in a new window that looks like this. One thing I really like about this program, is that you can easily obtain the found items' information; you can quick look them and even see the location path. You can hit the info button; this will show some more information and a full preview of the item.
You can manually drag the items you want to manage in a manual basket. Keep in mind that Tidy Up is also provided with an automatic basket system that helps you gather the items you want to manage. For example if you don't care where the duplicate files reside, you can directly delete the basket "All but one item found for each duplicate group". Otherwise, if you'd rather have some specific files in your smart basket, you can create a new one from this button and an option window will appear, containing specific criteria for every kind of file. For example you can decide to gather all the oldest images.
Once your basket is ready you can delete the items, move or copy them, backup and burn a CD, export the found item list or substitute the items with aliases. This is all part of the safe deletion system Tidy Up is provided with. This application is able to restore all the deleted items even after the restart of the computer, unless the Trash is emptied.
