Flipbooks - How to Change the Background Image of your Digital Edition
In this video tutorial we will show you how to change the Background Image within your publication. We will be working with the Appearance Panel in the Design Tab in the 3D Issue Software.
The Background Image is the area of the screen visible behind the digital publication. This background image is presented on screen as the publication is first loading and remains on screen whilst the user reads through the magazine. This first sample has a very busy background image, whilst the second sample has a simple white background. This area can be used to continue to reinforce the corporate brand using a very specific campaign related or others prefer to use a less distracting block-colour background that compliments the publication being viewed or one that ties in with the corporate colour scheme of the company or the product being promoted.
Select Background under the Appearance Tab. We provide you with two default background images to use, the wooden floor and a grey concrete image. If background is set to none then the background area will appear black to the end reader. However if you choose Custom then you can choose Use Colour to pick a block colour to have as your background image. Alternatively choose the Use Image option and tell the system the location of a branded image file to use instead.
The recommend image size for backgrounds is 1280 x 1024, this is the screen resolution most commonly used by readers. It's also recommended that you keep the file size of the image below 500kb, as this will not impact heavily on the loading time of your publication.
Supported File formats for background images include JPEG, GIF and PNG. Background images will not appear on smartphone devices due to the small screen resolution however they are visible on tablets and larger screens.
Let's quickly review our changes using the preview button.
That concludes this module on changing the Background Image within your Publication. Thank you for joining us.
