Steps to change the Microsoft Edge home page:
Size and shape of the desktop:
Type display settings into the Search bar, then select it from the results.
Click and drag the slider bar to change the size of text and windows, then click Apply.
Screen resolution:
Type change the screen resolution into the Search bar, then select it from the results.
Click the image of the monitor, then click Advanced display settings.
Select a resolution from the drop-down list, then click Apply.
Click Keep changes.
Screen orientation:
Type change the screen orientation into the Search bar, then select it from the results.
Select an option from the drop-down list, then click Apply.
Click Keep changes, or Revert to cancel.
Background:
Right-click the desktop, then click Personalize.
Click Background.
Select a background, or click Browse to select an image from your computer.
Click Choose picture.
Click the Choose a fit drop-down menu to change the picture display.
New shortcut:
Right-click on the desktop, click New, then click Shortcut.
Follow the on-screen instructions, then click Finish.
New folder:
Right-click on the desktop, click New, then click Folder.
To change the name, right-click the folder icon, then click Rename.
Type the new name and press Enter.
Icon size:
Right-click on the Desktop, then click View.
Click Large Icons, Medium Icons, or Small Icons.
Colors and appearance:
Right-click on the desktop then click Personalize.
Click Background, Colors, Lock Screen, Themes, or Start to open the corresponding settings window.
Screen saver:
Type change screen saver into the Search bar, then select it from the results.
Select one of the pre-loaded screen savers from the menu.
Click Settings to adjust settings.

This video shows how to change display settings,
background image,
icons, and the screen saver in Windows 10.
Windows 10 allows you to adjust the appearance
of your desktop to your personal preferences.
Follow these steps to adjust the size and
shape of the desktop.
Type display settings into the Search bar,
then select Display settings
from the list of results.
Click and drag the slider bar to change the
size of text and windows,
then click Apply.
Type change the screen resolution into the
Search bar,
then select Change the screen resolution from
the list of results.
Click the image of the monitor that you want
to adjust,
then click Advanced display settings.
To change the screen size for the selected monitor,
select a resolution from the drop-down list,
then click Apply.
Click Keep changes to confirm your selection.
Type change the screen orientation into the
Search bar,
then select Change the screen orientation
from the list of results.
To change the orientation from landscape and
portrait, or to flip the orientation,
select an option from the drop-down list,
then click Apply.
Click Keep changes, or click Revert to cancel
the change.
You can set your desktop background to fit
your personal preferences.
Follow these steps to change the pattern or wallpaper.
Right-click the desktop, then click Personalize.
A control panel opens.
Click Background to open the settings window.
Select one of the included backgrounds.
Or click Browse to navigate to a picture stored
on your computer.
Make sure your desired image is saved with
one of the supported extensions.
Once you select your desired image, click
Choose picture.
Use the Choose a fit drop-down list to change
how the picture displays on the background.
The change takes place immediately.
Follow these steps to adjust or add new desktop icons.
If all of the desktop icons are missing, right-click
on the Desktop,
hover over View, and make sure Show desktop
icons is selected.
To create a new shortcut, right-click on the desktop,
click New, then click Shortcut.
Browse to find the location of the shortcut
you want, click OK, then click Next.
Follow the on-screen instructions, then click
Finish to complete the shortcut creation.
To create a new folder, right-click on the desktop,
click New, then click Folder.
To change a folder name, right-click the folder icon,
then click Rename. Type the new name and press Enter.
To adjust the size of the icons, right-click
on the Desktop,
click View, then click Large Icons, Medium
Icons, or Small Icons.
You can use the Window Color and Appearance
window to determine the colors
that Windows uses for the default text color,
text background color, and more.
Follow these steps to change the appearance
to your personal preferences.
Right-click on the desktop then click Personalize.
Click Background, Colors, Lock Screen, Themes,
or Start to open the corresponding settings window.
Then adjust the settings.
Follow these steps to open the
advanced display settings.
Type Display settings into the Search bar,
then select Display settings
from the list of results.
Click Advanced display settings.
Click Display adapter properties.
The Advanced display settings window opens.
Click a tab to adjust the corresponding settings.
Screen savers help prevent stationary images
from burning a residual image into your monitor.
Follow these steps to change the screen saver
to your preferences.
Type change screen saver into the Search bar,
then select Change screen saver
from the list of results.
Select one of the pre-loaded screen savers
from the menu.
Click Settings to open a settings window for
the selected screen saver.
Adjust your settings, then click OK.
Click Preview to view the screen saver.
Move the mouse to return to the Screen Saver
Settings window.
Select the number of minutes of inactivity
for the screen saver to open in the Wait field.
Select On resume, display logon screen if
you want the logon screen to open
when anyone attempts to use the computer after
the screen saver opens.
Click OK to save the settings.
If the screen saver does not open after the
selected time has elapsed,
activity from certain hardware devices may
be causing issues.
Follow these troubleshooting steps.
Type device manager into the Search bar, then
select Device Manager from the list of results.
Click the arrow symbol next to the hardware
device you want to adjust,
then double-click the hardware device to open
the Properties window.
Some devices that commonly interfere with
a screen saver are an optical mouse,
Always-on internet connection, and High
definition audio.
Click the Power Management tab and remove
the selection from
Allow this device to wake the computer.
Click OK, close any open windows, then restart
the computer.
If you are still having issues, continue to
the next step.
Disconnect all non-essential devices,
then restart the computer with only the original
mouse, monitor and keyboard connected.
If this resolves the problem, one of the connected
devices was causing the problem.
Connect one device at a time until you find
the device causing the problems.
