CGRundertow TREASURES OF MONTEZUMA BLITZ for PlayStation Vita Video Game Review
Treasures of Montezuma Blitz review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Treasures of Montezuma Blitz for Playstation Vita.
The game is a clone of Bejeweled, a puzzle game where the screen is filled with jewels and you need to get three in a row and they explode and reward you with points. But while the game may be fun, the game plays a dirty trick soon after. You will use up your plays and be forced to buy more from the Playstation Store.
This video review features video gameplay footage of Treasures of Montezuma Blitz for Playstation Vita and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Ryan.

The PS Vita has amazing graphic abilities,
interesting features and online play, that
all makes for some great games for the hardcore
gamer. But while it still appears that Sony
is going to focus on making true new-gen makes
on their system, there is no denying to appeal,
and potential money, in the casual games market.
And with the release of Treasures of Montezuma
Blitz Sony has stopped by their local hardware
store in advance to buy some additional rakes,
to bring in the money with. But at least the
game is creative, and (whispering) uh huh,
really, ah. I am being informed now that this
is basically just Bejeweled, only with a microtransaction
element added.
The game is a puzzle game. The screen will
fill with jewels of different colors. You
need to move the jewels with the touchscreen
and line up the colors. When you get three
or more colors in a row, they get electrocuted
and explode, rewarding you with points. The
points really start to add up when you get
long combos going, having your stones fall
down into groups and explode. Some stones
have precious jewels in them and if you get
explode them, you get a nice points bonus.
And you want to gets those stones exploding
at a nice pace. There is a meter along the
side that is always dropping, and earning
points pushes it up. The higher it is, the
bigger the bonus. So it is a frantic race,
as you start searching for you next play enough
before you last one is done. All to get the
highest score before the time limit.
Each round gives you a finish score and jewels,
that can be used to upgrade, or play another
round. That is right, no free rides here,
you have to pay to play. You won’t see it
coming too. You will use your points for upgrades
then start another round, only to have the
game take you to the Playstation Store in
order to purchase more jewels. Sony is advertising
this as a free game for your Vita, only for
you to learn that it is anything but.
So what is this free game? The short answer
is this: It is a clone of a much more popular
game, and although you may believe that it
is free, it’s going to try to drain you
one penny at a time. It would almost be admirable,
if it wasn’t so sad.
