Scanning and organizing documents automatically!

I have found an easy way to scan documents and sort them with very little additional effort. Stay tuned next week where I show you how to set everything up!

The programs that are used are:

I recognize that my idea is not unique, and that there are several services like this available, but most of them are marketed for large industries and cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. The trial software for the A-PDF service has full capabilities, but places a watermark on each document. If you don't mind the watermark on the A-PDF Barcode Split Service trial, this is a free option; one that is easy to set up, one that any student or parent could use. The full program costs

hey youtube this is a video I've been
not want to make for a few weeks and i
hope you guys find it useful
essentially what i wanted to do here was
take a bunch of documents maybe bills
first-year student you know notes from
different classes and be able to kind of
scan them all once i'm using a auto ski
auto on Pete scanner and have some sort
of document some sort of program split
them up
i'm an organizing so that's what I'm
trying to accomplish in this video I'm
and this is just kind of it
no proof of concept and i will make a
how to video soon so to start off I just
want to show you these are custom-made
barca this is we're gonna be using to
differentiate between different
documents so so here you see I bills so
all you have to do is have to have
barcodes of each of the different
document types you wanted on so maybe
had a bar code for each of your classes
maybe you have are good for your bank
statements right here you have a bar
code for bills you know you keep it
pretty simple or you can make this
complicated you want to the bottom line
is that you can take all these documents
that you require of the course the day
and basically by sorting them in what
could amount to probably 30 seconds you
just throw them in the auto scanner here
and then the program on my computer does
the rest
so I'm i just want to give you guys a
brief explanation as to why I'm doing
this why I i think it's an important
thing and I think maybe it's useful to
you guys and switches one sharing it
with you i'm going to medical school
next year and I recognize will be
dealing with ton of documents and I want
to have all these available to me on
dropbox and so the only way I'm going to
do that is just a few ways you can take
pictures with your camera but that is a
pain you know the camera's not fast it's
not fast elegant used to picking up
save me to the documents it would take
forever even if you use the scanner and
its current state where it just sits
here and then
I scan documents that have to go and
split the PDF into multiple pdfs and
rename all of them and put them in the
appropriate folders and I just basically
have no patience for that and I don't
think that sustainable practice
especially on that visit if I'm in
medical school I just don't think that's
reasonable
so the only way I think the only way i
think i'll actually here to something
like this where i have electronic
documents of the notes that I've taken a
new class or just documents that need
for school i want for each day for each
course the notes i take on be a separate
document that i could then send two
classmates on because I think that's
ultimately far more useful because
you're not only able to kind of have
access to stuff yourself very able to
help your classmates by sending you
notes to you know around and I think i
think that's that's kind of what I'm
trying to accomplish here and i think i
have accomplished it
the programs will be using to accomplish
this are the APF barcode split service
and move out this program takes the pdfs
split them into on the individual
documents based off our coats as we were
talking about earlier and move it out
recognizes specific names files and
moves them to the appropriate folder as
you can see set that all right just to
clarify this is the folder where the
file PS will be sent from the printer to
the pier on there will be picked up and
then split and then it will show up here
and once they're split move out which is
the application will recognize the name
of the file and then move to the
appropriate file so this is a bank bills
chemistry and biology as you can see so
that this will show you the entire
process after i press scan will have and
then you'll be able to see how each file
moves from one step to the next
so without further ado here's the entire
process from start to finish
it's going to bring it over here
see all the documents biology chemistry
bills and bank and there they are each
in their own folder
this is a really easy thing to set up it
takes it took me a few hours to figure
out how to do it and what where to find
the right programs to do but once you
set this up you might just be a few
minutes making barcode pages but other
than that the amount of time is
relatively relatively small it wasn't it
wasn't this like this didn't take
multiple takes this is a first
first take you know was a success so i
