How to burn an iPhoto slideshow to a DVD

The latest version of Mac 10.7 Lion does not ship with iDVD. This video tutorial demonstrates a work-around on how to burn an iPhoto slideshow to a DVD.

so here's how you can burn a DVD from
iphoto soaking up our photo and then
I'll go to my photos and then I'll just
choose these these photos here from
lenny's meal and out in the country and
then I'll just right click and say
create new slideshow and i'll just call

see it's set for to play on a computer

so click export and i'll save this to my
desktop and run through this and do its
thing might take a minute or so so i'll
pause the video
ok I'm back and the slideshows exported
to the desktop so close this window out
and I'll just minimize I photo and
here's our slideshow
let's play it make sure it's okay yeah
it's pretty good so right now we need to
go get an application to burn a DVD so
if you just search burn and mac and then
click on this top one here just as burn
and so just an application it's free
application download to burn discs on
your Mac it's pretty good little
application
max run in line latest version which is
a 64-bit operating system so i'm going
to download the 64 bit version you can
download this is 32 bit so just download
the 64 bit version
all right
take a few seconds for it to download
pause the video
i Ken Burns downloaded so just double
click on that and go to your downloads
folder and open up the zip file and then
grab this bar nap right here and just
drag it into our applications folder
close that out and then never in the
spotlight just get search for burned
there it is open it up
alright so we want to burn a video we
have data audio video copy click video
and just call it whatever you want your
DVD to be name and then click this and
choose DVD video and then we need when
you drag this m4v file
this is for a computer format or either
it will play an apple TV drag it in here
and i'll ask if it wants to convert it
says it's an incompatible file so it
needs to be an impact
that's what DVD formats have to be so
then click convert and then we'll just
say that the desktop as well maybe just
a little bit to encode it
all right once that's done then just
click on your DVD and click burn it will
tell you - it's going to burn it and in
my drive on my macbook pro so just
insert a disk and then click barn
