ok this video how to actually back up a
file onto a USB drive so you can play it
on your computer and we looked at video
of a red firebird pulling into the
parking lot
I made a note of the date and time of
that that was July thirtieth 2013 and
that was about 152 p.m. and then a few
moments later
so walk through the lobby with a package
so it was the two files i want to go
ahead and grab on disk so let's go ahead
and start that i'm going to go ahead and
right-click the mouse brings up my
little book icon in the corner here
which is the menu
i'm going to click on that got some
interesting bugs flying up in front of
one of the cameras here live right now
but now i'm going to go over to the main
menu here and I've got set up search
back up information president but i'm
going to go to the backup file click on
that and here i'm going to go ahead and
tell it the start and stop time so the
key thing is I need to know the video
I'm looking for ahead of time by
searching for which is the other video
we just went through a date and I'm
going to change the month from September
to july so now it's a 7 2013 and we go
to the 30th and I'm going to tell to
start the video at one for the hour
click OK the minutes 52
click OK and 00 on the seconds and even
p.m. a click it once to change it to
p.m. the stop time
here all again go to the calendar book
the thirtieth of july
so my start time like 30th 152 p.m. and
time - I 30th and I want to change that
- 20
I will say 05 and 59 seconds for that
and I don't need all the cameras i'm
going to turn off the cameras I don't
need that would be a lot of extra video
I just looking for the video on camera
or seven and camera number 11
once i have the parameters correct that
I've double-checked it hit the search
and there are two videos that fall into
that range and so i'm going to go ahead
and take those two videos and i'm going
to go ahead and click on the back up so
they're both checked and i can tell it
click all I can uncheck that I guess
that really only want this video or this
video but in this case all of them on
the list
so click all and then i'm going to go
ahead and hit the back up my USB Drive
already in the slot on the front of the
DVR
if I hadn't done that it's going to say
no device found but here it's telling me
the total number of files - here's the
video files the start time and the stop
time and then it's saying the size of it
. 25 8 gigabytes and it's going into USB
Drive 1 i've got a total free space of
7.5 8 gigabyte plenty of room
do I want to add the backup player on to
the file this is optional
you know you already got the backup
player on your computer you certainly
don't need to transfer every time and
you can click that if this the first
time you've done a video where you're
going to give it to a police detective
who needs to have the player software
go ahead and click that on or the other
questions save the file type DVR
software or i can simply save it as an
avi file
this is going to play in your windows
media player or anything that will play
an avi file but in most cases i like the
additional features of the day our
software once I have all that
hit the start button and it is going to
show me the progress of three percent
four percent
we're at five percent seven eight nine
this will go in large chunks once it
gets closer to the end with twenty-five
percent
and it went from about forty five
percent and then BAM shot up to one
hundred percent backup complete i'm
going to click ok if I wanted to I could
stick another USB drive in and back it
up again to a secondary drive or I could
then pull up some more files if i'm
looking for something else and adding to
that same drive but that is the process
of backing up a video to a USB Drive
once you have it on a USB drive the next
step is going to be how to play it on a
computer so you can look for that video
file on how to play my USB file on my
computer thank you
