hello and welcome back to another easy
on Landrum and video training
this lesson is for beginners and it's
actually the first lesson for beginners
on my website and i'm going to present
it here so if you are an advanced learn
it may be boring if you want to improve
your pronunciation you can also watch
this video lesson
so let's start with a little
conversation
mrs. Schmidt meet mrs. Williams and they
have a little conversation
messerschmitt asks if she speaks German
and then she answers yes I understand a
little german and then mrs. Schmidt asks
are you American
and she says no I'm English and then she
is asked where she comes from
and mrs. Schmidt comes from Hamburg and
mrs. Williams says that she knows
hamburg and that it's a nice town
so this is the content of the
conversation and we're going to start
with the question of mrs. Schmidt and
she says wouldn't talk
splashes the gorge so good day
if you translate it literally speak you
german and z is the polite form and you
always have to write it with the capital
letter
so let's see what the pronunciation is
like wouldn't talk
guten talk
we have a long who sound in boonton and
an unstressed e in the last syllable
most of the time we Germans don't speak
this unstressed e so it's Gooden wooden
and talk
the G is pronounced like a que it's not
such a strong k but at least it's not a
hard G sound wouldn't talk
pression expression is also the
infinitive off to speak and specimens II
do you speak
z is the polite form expression we have
the sound and the pea
as you can see in the phonetic script in
brackets SP is always pronounced at the
beginning of a word
so it's specimens and a problem sound
maybe the cultural r which is wrapped
between the uvula and the back part of
the time so it's not rolled R this R is
not rolled at the back but robbed
so it's not a little it's the ok so you
have to bring the sound and the P which
is produced in the front and the
guttural are together somehow
specimens we have a short sound harsh
repression and the next problem sound is
the soft CH and in the phonetic script
we use this little see with the little
tick at the bottom
and the CH is a root consonant and here
we have a soft CH expression if you
whisper the word
yes so don't use your vocal cords
yes this is the sound and the next word
z the polite form for you
z it's a soft s and a long e sound in
the phonetic script we use a double . or
column to express that we have a long
sound or a long vowel in a word
so Z we have a diphthong and this is the
e different
this is always a long e sound so it's
not an e or a sound
z and indoor JH we have the next
diphthong
it's the droid phone e second
is boy in the phonetic script
we use the sign for the open or sound or
and the sign for the you sound so it's a
boy toy
it's not only it's not an e sound at the
end of this diphthong
it's rather and boost sound so storage
and we have another group consonant here
it's SCH which is
sound so in the phonetic script you see
the side for the sound after the tea
so it's couldn't talk
specials ed George
and it's important that we have the
predicate first when we have a question
and then comes the subject so it's
expressions II couldn't talk expressions
the George the next sentence is a normal
positive centers
mrs. Williams answers
I understand a little german and she
says shrestha I ambition George it
I we have a short e sound it
it's not II its it ish and we have the
soft CH sound so try to whisper and you
will get very close to this sound ish
fast here fast steal the V is pronounced
like an f you can see this in the
phonetic script and we have me a sound
again and a central our sound which is
slightly more constricted than a normal
our sound so not as open / trs-80 is
also pronounced
and T so similar to SP we hatched
we have this when i AST r SP stands at
the beginning of a word
now we have bashed in so it's not at the
beginning but it's in the middle of the
word
however the word ashton is derived from
the verb steer to stand and there is the
prefix so similar to stand and
understand we have Stan and bashed in
in German flashed in we have a long e
sound in the script we have an E and the
colin which means that it's a long bowl
and we have an unstressed e so each
fresh deer
eh is a lengthening age and this means
that the H is only there to make the
vowel in front of it long
so the H itself is not spoken in ch
- tyr ambition means a little iron
mission we have the idea phone in the
word
I we write and I but this is pronounced
i R and E
that's how we pronounce
the vowels and German becomes I I
ambition
we have a short e sound in mission and a
sharp as and we have the CH the soft CH
again in this word like in the word ish
- mission mission
I ambition and George you already know
is freshly I'm mission gorge
each first year I mission gorge
so we have a normal positive sentence
and you can see that we have the subject
first and then the predicate fresh deer
in the next sentence mrs. Schmidt
asks mrs. Williams are you American
zinzie americana oven
sims ii am merely konnen zie in our
lives in we have a soft s at the
beginning of german words and the short
e sound
the D is spoken like a tea when we have
it at the end of a word
Xin Xin z you already know
are you American zinzie a milli
Connellan are merely konnen is the
female word for American americana would
be the male form
but here we have a woman so we use the
ending edn or I and n and this is the
ending for female forms
I'm really Connellan contains to gradual
are sounds so rub it at the back between
the back part of the tongue and the
uvula don't roll it
so it's not a little it's a little
little you just have to make this
channel between uvula and the back part
of the tongue a little more narrow are
merely Connor than and the stress is on
the fourth syllable are me the
connivance we have a little tick in the
phonetic script and most of the time the
stress is on the first syllable in
German words but sometimes it can also
be different
especially when we have foreign words so
here it's a merely konnen zie are merely
konnen are you American
and we have a female form here and mrs.
Williams answers
no I am English and we also have the
female form again
nine ish been England oven
nine ish been in England 79 the word for
know we have this idea of thing again
he and I but we pronounce it
I nine
we have the word ish
which means I again been it's been I am
we have a short e sound and been too
ich bin I am England Erlin anglin de
would be the male form
and in London is the female form here we
have a stress on the first syllable
England oven
we have a short essay sound in this word
and we have the sound because we have
the combination of N and G and we also
have a special sign in the phonetic
script England urban we have a second
heir sound after the L and an unstressed
is sound and a short e sound at the end
anglin Derlin nine
it's been a glint devyn nine ish been in
England oven and then mrs. Williams asks
mrs. Schmidt want war how common Z and
where do you come from and where from
come you is the literal translation so
she asks want or how common Z . is and
owned
we have a short u sound in this word the
O sound . and the D is spoken like a tea
again . the next word is war here
we're from war here
the German w is always pronounced like
the English V sound
and we have a long or sound or here all
who hear and the age is pronounced in
this word because with the e we have a
full vowel
following the H in the middle so we
don't have a lengthening age here or
here so we have a long is sound
after the h and the central our sound so
it's this our sound which is slightly
more constricted want more here
common z who here
common
common is the word for to come
z common you come it's the polite form
and we have a question again
so we have the predicate first and then
the subject common contains an open no
sound all
it's the same sound we have in morning
but in german it's always a short sound
common common
z you already know it means you but it's
the polite form on your hair , and Z and
where do you come from what we hear ,
and Z and then mrs. Schmidt answers is ,
on homework is , off hum block ish , I
come ish
you already know and ,
oh we have the default 0 in this word
ah and who becomes 0
hum book
hamburg homework
the stress is on the first syllable like
in most of the german words and then we
have a short u sound again
the all sound and you are is pronounced
like an unstressed e sound so homework
homework and the g is pronounced like a
kid
because we have it at the end of a word
is , was homework and by the way we do
pronounce the H at the beginning of a
word or syllable so homework is a word
which is pronounced with an h at the
beginning and mrs. Schmidt
asks mrs. Williams do you know hamburg
Kenzie homework
Kenzie homework
literally no you
hamburg so we have the predicate at the
beginning again the predicate is
everything which belongs to the verb of
the sentence and then comes the subject
canon to know a person or the city
Kenzie homework
we have a short air sound in this word
and the unstressed e in the last
syllable
z you already know and humbug
you also know so
Kenzie homework do you know hamburg or
literally no you
hamburg and then mrs. Williams answers
yeah ish marcom books they're literally
yes I like have work very well in
English you would have to say yes I like
hamburger very much
yeah the german word for years
yeah
if you already know if the german word
for I mark ish mark
I like and the g is pronounced like a
once again ish mark homework
00
we have a soft s at the beginning of zir
and along is sound and a central our
sound so the H is a lengthening age in
this word
Zia the H is only there to make the vol
II long and the r is pronounced like a
central our sound so it's not a natural
are ya
ich mach homework Zia yeah ish mark
handbooks there and then she adds
homework is an assurance shot
Hamburg is a nice city
homework is I know soonish . Hamburg is
a nice city so Hamburg is homework
East is East with a short e sound it
I know sure shot
nice City sure is beautiful or nice
and in this sentence
we have
the nominative form of a noun
I know shona start so we have to decline
the adjectives and the article
ina shuna start
ina is the female form of iron
so it's the undefined article
ina is the female form
shuna we have a special sound it's the
sound so its a mix of E and all and the
trick is you say e with rounded lips but
leave the tongue where it is a suna suna
and the corners of the mouth have to be
tensed
so it's not all this is the protruded
roundedness but boo is the compressed
roundedness
shuna we have an unstressed e at the end
and start is the word for City start
we have st at the beginning which means
we have a sound entity start and the
shorts are sound and dt is spoken like a
tea
so hum block is an assurance start
homework is an assurance start
so maybe we can go through these
sentences
once again couldn't talk
splashing the Georges rush see I'm busy
and George busy
americana 79
it's been a lender than 14 , and z is ,
office handbook can see how work
yeah its mark on box here
homework is an assurance that this was
the first conversation and i hope you

small talk or conversation
