How to use the zoom h4n audio recorder along with video recording

Just a quick video on how I sync my audio from my zoom recorder to the video feed on my canon camera.

photography and that one of my most
recent purchases was my h4n audio
recorder and the reason why I got this
is because i plan on doing a lot of
interviews with video and also the same
time try to be more product reviews so
one of the things in my research that
I've noticed is that a lot of people had
really great audio and upon looking
further into and i discovered they were
using a personal record like this rather
than relying on the audio coming from
the camera so now if you notice the
audio right now is coming in through
cameras audio input and it's going to
sound pretty actually especially since
i'm going to small room or any room for
that matter because my voice is bouncing
off the walls there might be external
sounds every now and then my dog park
outside and back so all that stuff will
be able to be picked up on the market
phone even if your microphone was a
decent quality before this actually had
a road smartphone which really greatly
improved Modio initially but i wanted to
take it one step further
so this is where the h for Ian comes in
handy in addition to that i bought a
yellow belt microphone so for those of
you interested in how this works we're
going to do is go ahead and plug in this
look at Mike and clip it on
it is not the best of you know hiding it
but I really just kind of wanted to
demonstrate how this sounds so what we
want to do at this point is I want to go
ahead and i have set up to where when i
hit record is going to automatically do
a top of leveling based on my voice and
right now i have a set of Mike's
identical and send it to the audio input
and then try that again they're so what
it's going to do is go ahead and novel
was pulling any audio from microphone
right now even though you can still hear
the audio from the camera but what is
doing is doing its audio leveling and
then once it comes up with a suitable
level where I won't peek or go over to
max volume what i can do is go ahead and
hit record now that point I can see it
is recording as good to go and this one
is picking up audio so here's the second
part of this question is that for the
second part of the issue is that now
that i have audio going on external
source which is a significantly greater
quality than when I have coming into the
camera
how do i get 22 and sink and if you guys
ever notice that if you look at
hollywood they have those clapboards you
know what to say action you know in a
snap down well the reason for that is
what I found out is that what they're
doing is that they're sinking the video
we're writing that class 4 hits there
seeking that with the sound and that's
how they can see the sound from that
point on when doing the editing
afterwards so with that in mind I
figured it might have been an
application out there for my tablet that
would do the exact same thing and this
application i found this film actually
in one that I found that I really liked
was called sinks late so once this loads
up here it's a little they might have
let me kill a few applications on
they're a lot of stuff running in the
background starting it ok that worked
out a little bit better so here i have a
typical you know screen instead of right
information down on it i can do
different takes so forth except for you
to see that I've already been doing some
takes from last night when doing a
product review which i'm going to be
doing again but what I want to do is go
ahead and show you how it works
so when I hit the button what's going to
happen is that this screen is going to
flash and at the same time is going to
meet its own so the video when I'm
editing i can see that flash at the same
time we're submitting that tone and then
we have everything sink so let me go
ahead and hit the button here to take
that shot and now at this point I'm
going to be seeking it up an audio and
right now since you're actually looking
at the video at this moment you should
be hearing my voice coming in through on
the lapel microphone which is going to
be a lot less equally and a lot more
clear with a lot higher quality so I'm
coming in through a very high quality
audio recorder so for those of you who
wanted to really know how this all works
out how this comes together and that's
whether it would benefit your videos or
your podcast i would highly suggest
getting a zoom h4n I didn't bother
really doing a review on it because
there's a lot of reviews out there that
already go into details the unboxing the
packaging and you know everything else
but again it is a very very useful
product to have when when doing your out
when doing your podcast/videocast ER
anything audio related is just going to
greatly improve the quality of the audio
by doing that so I hope that helps if
