how many of you out there using google
hangouts to share video with your
friends and family or to communicate
with relatives around the globe
well in addition to being a personal
tool google+ hangouts are also great for
business because not only can you do
video conferencing with customers but
you can hold live webinars and you can
actually record your google hangouts and
so today's question of the day comes
from a reader who wants to know
hey i love using google hangouts is
there a way to record them
yes so to record your google hangout all
you need to do is go to your Google+
account and login and once you login you
want to select the Hangout option and
there's two ways to do this one is over
on the right-hand side or you can go
over here in the menu on the left and
select hangouts at this point you're
going to get the option to either join a
hangout or start your own in this case
we're going to start our own hangout so
once we have selected started heading
out
we get the ability to either add people
by name and your email addresses or if
we actually have our Google+ account
organized into circles we can invite
entire circle so once you've decided who
all you're going to hang out with you
want to make sure that you named your
hangout and lastly the most important
part if you want to record your google+
hangout simply click the enable hangouts
on air option
what's going to happen here now is once
you've started this and actually started
your hangout you're going to get about
10 seconds will count down from google
and you're going to be able to record
your hangout so that's how to record a
hangout so let's quickly talk about what
happens after you record your hangout
well once you record your google+
hangout or hangout is automatically
going to get uploaded to your YouTube
account and that's going to show up
under the video manager said
in at the top and so if you click in
here you're going to see your google+
hangout will show up here at the top now
one thing I did want to mention google+
hangouts are limited to 15 minutes
maximum and this is because that's the
limit on youtube videos now you can
actually go in and request to extend the
length of your recordings by the way I'm
putting a link to that in the
description of this video
in addition if you've held a google
hangout and you want to actually go in
and make your hangout private so that
people can't go back and watch that
video all you need to do is edit your
video go to the privacy settings and
check the private option so that's it
