hi my name is Lisa Santa's if you've
ever wanted to showcase pictures of your
vacations party special events or
perhaps a product or service and with
music playing in the background
well you're about to learn how today
welcome to my tutorial video on how to
make a picture slideshow with music
using Windows Movie Maker
now this tutorial as soon as you already
have windows movie maker on your
computer
it comes free with closed windows XP and
Vista computers generally it is found in
your programs folder if you don't have
windows movie maker
you may download a free copy at
microsoft.com know this tutorial uses
windows movie maker version 6.0 using
vista premium home edition
ok let's begin this tutorial now before
we get started let's go ahead and give
our project and need
so we'll go to file save project as and
just give on your slide show
project name then click Save
so the first thing we want to do is we
want to import pictures onto windows
movie maker
so you'll go over to the left hand side
in the import section and come down to
pictures and import media box appears
where you can browse for your pictures
and select the ones you want for your
project using your control key you can
choose each individual picture for your
project
then come down and click import
ok once your pictures are imported into
Windows Movie Maker you want to go ahead
and drag each picture down to the
storyboard which is this area right here
so one by one drag each picture down to
the storyboard
next you want to go ahead and import the
audio or music file again you'll go back
to your import section click on audio or
music then you would browse for the file
music file that you would like to use
for your slideshow project so I'll just
choose this one here for demonstration
purposes and then click import
okay now in order to add music to your
slideshow
you'll need to switch your project view
from storyboard to Timeline view so so
come down to the storyboard option click
there and you will see timeline option
so now your project has been switched to
Timeline view you'll go to your music
file and drag that down to the audio and
music section at this point you can
choose to adjust the pictures to match
the length of your music file or you can
adjust the music file
accordingly here's what I mean as you
can see here the music file extends a
few seconds longer than the the pictures
you can simply adjust the music file by
dragging the audio file over to the left
which will clip the last portion of the
music
another option you can adjust is the
volume of music you were right mouse
click and choose the volume option and
you can adjust the volume level
accordingly here
ok now we can go ahead and save our
project before previewing once you save
you can come over to the video player
and preview your project

as you can see is very simple to add
music to your pictures and and you're
able to make a wonderful slideshow video
once you're satisfied with your project
you want to go ahead and publish it as a
movie
so you go to file click on publish where
it says where do you want to publish
your movie
choose this computer click Next you can
on remain with the same name as your
project choose where you want to publish
your movie and then click Next x
you can leave the default settings for
your movie and click publish
and so it is now compressing the movie
into a file and that in a nutshell is
how you make a slideshow video with
music
