I'm gonna use my own phones which are
jailbroken before I installed the
spyware I confirm this Sergio did detect
the jailbreak if you get the same result
in you did not jailbreak your phone then
you should absolutely be concerned
in a follow-up video I'll be
demonstrating all the creepy stuff the
spyware can do once it's installed on
your iPhone or Android device so be sure

certo I did get a warning from chrome
and this is not that uncommon for
software that relatively new so I went
over to virustotal dot com and went
ahead and made sure that the file is
clean you can find a link to the virus
to report in the video description
once you've installed the sort of
software and introduce registration code
you'll have an icon on your desktop
let's look something like this before we
get to that part but we want to do is go
ahead and open up iTunes and make sure
that we have created a backup of the
phone that we want to check out I've
already deleted my backup files so that
we can go through the process
step-by-step if you're already familiar
with that of course you can just skip
ahead so the first thing that we're
going to do is take your USB cable and
plug your iPhone into the computer
you should see an icon appear right up
here if you're not already familiar with
iTunes going left click on the iPhone in
its gonna ask us what we want to do
exactly so you do not want to back up to
the iCloud which wanna do is back this
up to the computer do not select the
encrypt option because that will prevent
the software from functioning properly
so once you have this connected to this
computer and if you see anything about
backing up apps go ahead and click yes
you do want to back up the apt to the
computer and then click the key here
this is back up now and this is going to
take a minute so I'll probably speed
things up here just a little bit to get
through this and then I'll come back as
soon as this is at a hundred percent
backed up

the backup has been completed and if you
wanted to take a look at it just going
here to drop down in under preferences
you'll see devices this is the device
that we just backed up so I'm going to
go ahead and leave that alone and you
can close iTunes or not it doesn't
really matter I'm just going to minimize
it and close this dialog here and then
we'll go ahead and open up the search
tool software and you will have to have
an internet connection to this can
verify your license in because my
computer is a little old it does take a
little while for this to load up
are so you'll have a welcome screen here
that talks a little bit about the
software what it does it does say that
the vast majority of iPhone malware
requires the device to be jailbroken so
that's not all of them but a lot of them
will and what this is going to do is
check and see if the phone is jailbroken
and then also if there's any spyware
detected so just go in quickly ok here
and then you'll have a list of phones
that are backed up on this computer so
this will actually go in and look at
iTunes and see what kind of backup files
you have only got one at the moment this
is my iphone to 29 2012 which we know is
jailbroken and we know that we've
installed spyware on to just go ahead
and its select scan and this will do its
thing
and there you can see that we have
acted positive on both the device is
jailbroken and there is spyware
installed and in this case it knows that
his own spy this is a software that's on
the phone that we're gonna want to
remove you can also generate a report
here and it will give you a PDF telling
you a little bit about the details of
school and do that real quick as you can
see and it literally just takes a second
to generate this report and open it up
here and you can see it's got the
service can report the date the version
of the phone serial number and so far so
that's gonna tell you what happened now
we are going to hook up another phone
that also has a jailbreak in the spyware
installed it will go in run the scan one
more time to see you can see what's
going on

and then once again you can see that it
is jailbroken there is five were
installed and this time it's his own spy

but if you get a positive result for
spyware I would immediately back up
whatever important information you have
on your phone to restore and then start
trying to figure out what is going on if
