Episode 0 - The Emperor's Report Card - The Fall of the Roman Republic

In order to grade the Emperors of Rome, I felt it right to explain how Rome got Emperors in the first place. it is a more complicated topic then one would consider, for instance; our word "Emperor" was not used by the Romans, in fact, for the first few Emperors, the Romans would call their leader the "Princeps, caesar, augustus, and dominus" and only later in roman history was the naked autocracy of it obvious.

But to start, we must explain how the Roman Republic got the the point where Caesar and his predecessor Augustus could take over.

We will be starting our story with a man who I'm sure never thought he would be the beginning of the sole rule of one man over Rome, but that's just what Tiberius Gracchus did.
After Gracchus we will also talk about 2 more men who pushed the Republic further and further into autocracy: Gaius Marius, and Lucius Cornelius Sulla.
