Audacity is a sound recorder and editor, that it allows you save mp3 and .wav files; however if you want record multiple tracks and want ot save the original, you must save it as an Audacity file. To create an mp3 or wav file, you do an "export".

It allows you to record in stereo or mono. In this video, I show the "Effect - Amplify" to lower and increase the volume of part of the sound file. I also show you how to delete sounds, such as a cough or clearing of the throat.

here's where I cocked to know what's
cool about this is you know you can't
wait to read these symbols but when you
listen to them you see the spaces in
there and you can kinda tell which is
which so this is the number one number
two this is when I cleared my throat
this is 345 so let's say I want to get
rid of the clearing of the throat I
basically just select that and I hit the
delete key on my keyboard or there's a
clicky appear then if I want to I can
actually fix this it's a little too loud
so there is an option on here where you
can say
say in fact amplify and we to lower this
a little bit so just try here minus 25
you can actually preview it before you
do it or what happened

Ctrl Z key on my keyboard I'm an undue

do a little bit less that's pretty good
now there's still something called
clipping here which goes on when you
record something outside the bounds of
where you should be recording can still
lose some of the quality of your audio
but I'm just trying to show you what you
can do with this tool now this one was
too soft I wanted amplify it the
positive direction this time
amplify and freeze it up
their amplify it doesn't seem to want to
go in between here there in the
mountains lower their in this is the
thought the trailer the endless say we
want to get rid of that so I just hit
the delete key and now this is what I
have gonna get rid of beginning as well
so I'm gonna play this back for you one

is called metadata and I'm asking to

puts on your disk here's your AUP file
and we haven't AUP file you'll also have
a data file and then we'll have folders
or subfolders under it and you'll see a
lot of little weird files there's really
not much that I know that you can do
with those they just have to be there so
that later if you want to reopen your
project in a desk again and continue
editing it you can and you can of course
opening mp3 file by itself but when they
go to da da city doesn't let you have
multiple tracks so for instance if you
had eight different microphones going to
a mixer or maybe we're doing singing
with yourself like there's a famous song
where Billy Joel saying whatever they
differ 88 or so different parts in a
stacked on top of each other you can do
that kind of thing without a city's well
that's the original project file and
then here's my demo 1 mp3 file that I
click on that file its gonna use
whatever program you have set up on your
computer to play it and so on my
computer this is starting off the video
screen I need to pick up a pic Windows
Media Player

audacity I've used actually for many
years it's been well maintained well
supported the keep it up-to-date it has
a lot more features obviously that what
I have demonstrated here and I'm just
trying to whet your appetite to show you
what's available I enjoy doing audios
and videos I used to edit files for
Hebrew program that I wrote I teach
people how to speak Hebrew language and
I do a lot of marketing and videos like
that on the web so audio is a very
important part of what a person does in
the marketing world so it's a great tool
and it's been very beneficial to me so
