Adding a story to ScriptVOX Studio
This is a tutorial on how to import a story into ScriptVOX Studio. This software is a great tool for prototyping narrations, children's stories, and screenplays.

This demo features voice modification + Text-to-Speech. All character voices in the demo audio are done by the same text-to-speech voice using advanced customization.
The software can import plain text, RTF, Word Documents, and PDF. It can automatically assign voices to characters in a screenplay. ScriptVOX can also storyboard with images and render to audio and video files for creating demos in just minutes.

hello and welcome to the demonstration
script box video software developing
story and script to life in this
demonstration I'll show you how to
import a story and how scoffs can easily
assign after voices to each of these
parts as well as graphics to create a
multimedia presentation
ok let's go ahead and import the story
that you just saw using the file new
project import script functionality
it'll open up the script import wizard
ok this wizard is going to let you
import pretty much any kind of texts
including a text rich text format word
document and PDF format so just go ahead
and open select the file here is a
options of different types of files that
can import click open
and then next
ok this panel lets you choose between
allowing more fox to auto-detect the
format of the text that you're importing
or just choosing manual if you just
wanted to import it without any
detection put on auto detect will let
you detect the characters automatically
for a lot of movie scripts in
screenplays so we'll try that on this
one
ok now you can see that script Fox has
indeed detected the characters properly
finding a kate and a josh and adding a
narrator for any other parts you can
also see on their columns that are
present including the gender & age calm
which lets you assign gender & age to
each actor
this gives script box a hint or clue on
which of voices should use which with
each actor and sometimes you may have a
duplicate actor part present which needs
to be combined with another after part
or maybe script Fox may have read miss
assigned to an after to a non dialogue
part you can choose that column to
reassign
okay for this example let's make the
narrator female age team I'm ki will
make female
and adults Josh will leave as a male
adult
and as I mentioned before this let
script box know what type of voices it
should attempt to assign to the actors
and you'll see in a short while it will
automatically do that without much work
on your part
so we'll click finish and there it is
alright so you've got the story import
and as you can see in the top panel
that's where the texts in the stories
located and includes all the different
actor parts which are highlighted
indicating that script box has detected
an assigned voices to these various
characters
ok let's look at the bottom
channel
that has
list of actors called active you as you
can see it has the actors as well as a
number of different controls for
tweaking that text to speech voice you
want to use with it which should be
automatically assigned by now using the
script box import wizard but the
interesting thing about this control is
the ability to modify and customize each
text-to-speech voices too high degree
this panel lets you choose various voice
mods and also need to be able to change
the pitch the timber volume and speed of
each text to speech voice this gives you
a high degree of customization so in a
sense with the single text-to-speech
voice you can create many variations
ok if you want to click on this button
here is lets you add an image for the
actor part and just click there and it
you can see it adds the afters image to
the storyline this is essentially is
like storyboarding so you can have a
different images for different lines so
to speak
ok let's add an image for the man and as
you can see i click on the top text
panel the preview window will show the
image that's the line up with the tips
this is pretty cool way of quickly
adding a storyboard so you can see how
the dialogue in scenes flow
ok to add graphics manually to the test
you can actually select the text add
graphics a menu and just select the
picture you want to add and it should
line up with the text you can keep on
doing that
select text and graphics select the
picture
here
and click open and as you can see how
quickly you can
create a storyboard I'm just selecting
text and adding graphics
once you're done adding the graphics you
can actually edit and modify the graphic
locations on the storyboard fairly
easily
let's say you want to move that one down
but you get this picture in the way so
you get rid of it by clicking remove
graphics you can actually see how it
stretches up the image so it lines up
with the text and you can adjust in
either direction as lets you have fine
control over where the graphics appear
in the story with regard to line of text
or even word in the text
ok now that we've got the actors line
selected and voices pit and graphics
added let's see how things look and
sound select the text and click play
he approaches a woman Kate with light
brown hair dressed in a faded green
blouse and ratty jeans she looks up and
smiles at him
so you finally made it i'm glad that i
could project to finally come out of
your shell and be social
I saved a seat for you well
I'm going to
easy
Josh sits down in the booth across from
gate
he puts down a large black satchel and
takes off his hat
he appears slightly distracted looking
out the window instead of it Kate
it looks somewhat annoyed
and the other feature i wanted
show you in this demonstration is the
ability to render out to audio and video
formats you can actually take your story
complete with voices and storyboarding
and render it out to a multimedia file
so this is what this is going to do it's
going to render out into a windows media
format file as you can see the preview
window shows the progress of the story
board
once this file is fully rendered out
you've got a full demonstration of your
story which you can play back in a
number of different media players
well that's it for script box studio for
