hello again as you know I am Alive
computer guy and today i'm doing a
hands-on review of the wondershare video
converter ultimate so this is a
wonderful piece of software that came to
me just in the nick of time
so if you're going out there and you're
creating a lot of video files of the way
that I do
one of the problems that you may run
into is that over time you will create
many different videos in different file
types so over the years I have encoded
videos in two different file types so
originally I included my videos in the
dye flv then I include them into . f4v
and now i encode them in . in for now
most of the time when you decide to go
out and upload your video files onto a
platform the platform will be able to
interpret whatever video file you give
it and be able to do whatever it needs
to do so when i upload my video files to
youtube I could upload . it before and I
f4v and I flv and it was all fine was
good it was hunky-dory absolutely no
problems
well now as i'm growing and I'm trying
to distribute my content into different
streams on two different platforms i'm
running into an issue because many of my
video files were encoded in . f4v this
was Adobe's proprietary . 8 . 264
implementation and the fact of the
matter is it never really caught on
so basically when i try to upload my .
f4v classes to you to me you to me says
no it looks at . flv it will accept .
mp4 but . f4v it just won't cope with
so the problem is I have all these
classes I went 30 to 40 video classes
and . f 4 B and as you guys know i'm
long winded so these are big files these
are 500 mag - 1.2 gig files and up until
I found the wondershare video converter
ultimate I
was it was just a bloody nightmare the
issue was is I was trying to use adobe
media encoder and that was a nightmare
so again 30 to 40 videos all 500 of 1.2
gigs in size
when i was using adobe media encoder
when I would try to do this it would
lock up
you would freeze who takes like five to
six minutes to actually do everything
that needed to be done / video and then
/ video it would take a couple of hours
to encode it was just a nightmare i have
done about six videos over the last week
because it was just so brutal
now there are other video converters out
there that I try to play with basically
wrappers for F was ffmpeg but they they
had weird quality issues yeah they were
free
yeah they didn't freeze up like adobe
media encoder but you know you get what
you pay for and they were they were free
so I was I was just running into issues
so basically I went off the vlogger fair
when I came back I had one of these Luke
rates that they gave us and so at yes
like one of those participant gifts tho
those gift bag things I found you know
they they give me a coupon for this
wonders when wondershare video converter
ultimate and I was sitting there
yesterday and figured you know what
hey I don't know who these guys are from
Adam but I need to figure out how to how
to convert all these these video files
let me give it a try . so i downloaded
it
i installed it and oh my golly these
guys are amazing and these guys are paid
. i'll take money from them if they want
to pay me
but believe me these guys are paying me
and I'm uh but their software is
absolutely awesome so that process with
adobe media encoder was just miserable
it's just nasty was just horrible mama
don't make me do it with this to give
you a head this morning i was able
dumped in a minute
10 video files into their software
I hit the convert button and within an
hour and a half
all the video files were done we're
talking about 500 next one . two gig
video files 10 of them
encoding simultaneously they were all
done it was just knew this but I looked
at the the end product and they were all
good
they were just no issues with the
software it was just the most amazing
thing in the world
so their video coding is great beyond
the video encoding what you guys would
like all right whether or not i like it
is they also give you the ability to
download youtube videos and
automatically convert them into any file
type you like so so people have been
complaining that i only create video
files of my daily blog and why don't I
do a podcast
well with this software you can actually
select the youtube video and then have
it download and be automatically be
encoded into . mp3 format
now i'm not saying this is legal i'm not
saying this isn't violating a whole
bunch of copyright and all the rest of
it but you can do it you can do it
so let's go over the computer now so I
can kind of show you this software is
again this is just the conversion and
all of it is just really really really
cool
so you're actually interested in buying
this basically you go to wonder
shared.com and then you go to multimedia
and then here we go to the video
converter family
basically there you'll find a wonder
share video converter ultimate they have
a trial version and then they have the
version you can buy it 60 bucks
uh this you know sometimes guys you just
gotta gotta throw some money down four
piece of software i know you guys all
want open source you all want free but
again us professionals you know we got
to pay the mortgage somehow
and believe me if you need file
conversion software
this stuff is absolutely awesome as they
say it converts up to 30 times faster
than other converters
I can't say to whether converts 30 times
faster I can say it converts a whole
crap top faster
you don't say like I am not joking each
video file in Adobe Media encoder that I
have would take a couple of hours
this did 10
in about an hour and a half so I I don't
know the math on that I just know it's a
crap ton faster than the other thing
which is nice and i'll show you is it
converts to a lot of different formats
very easily
basically just just just click and go so
you don't have to go in to do a lot of
weird configurations so the way they say
they do this is basically the optimized
for the intel processors and they let
leverage Nvidia and AMD technologies
again there's a whole bunch of technical
stuff here I don't know how it works but
it's just really like dump quick let's
minimize this and then all you do to
start the wondershare video converter is
this you just double click on the fee
and from here we go we can see that we
have three main tabs we have convert we
have burned and we have download the
download is playing with the four would
just kill that for a second
so these are the three main tabs will
look at convert and download today
they do have the burn option but I don't
know burning dvds seems like oh so 2004
so if you want to burn dvds you you
figure it out
I honestly just don't care now they do
have more advanced preferences
so if you click on this little icon here
we can go to preferences from here
asking the language automatic updates
convert
so you know how do you want to convert
the big thing is also how many cpu cores
do you want to use
so if you want to be using other you
want to be working with your computer
while this thing is converting then you
may want to just knock this down like
say only for course
so basically this will be able to run
while you use outlook and other stuff i
would say crank it up to all the cords
you've gotta let it go and go grab a cup
of coffee here and ask you do you want
to enable the GPU acceleration enable
high speed conversion
I have no idea why you would say no but
i suppose you could they have some drm
options here download options so on and
so forth so that's the basic stuff
now what we're going to do that is we go
over to convert and so to convert files
it's very very very easily
all you do is you click on the add files
here and go to desktop i can find a
video file that i have on my desktop so
this is a daily blob that i downloaded
as a test and so right now it's a
that basically you can convert for mp4
to mp4
well that doesn't make a whole hell of a
lot of sense so what I want to do is I
want to go over here to the output
format i want to change that
so here when i click on this this gives
me options so these are the favourites
these are the ones that assumes you want
to use but then we can go over here to
individual formats so video formats and
before mov xvid divx the whole nine
yards we go to audio to HD we can get
web we can do it by device so i want to
encode this and i know that i want to
play an iphone iphone 3gs i can make
sure that it's the right quality for
that that's one of the problems that you
have one of these older phones and you
encode a really high quality
it's it's gonna be really painful to try
to watch an older phone so you can make
sure that is encoded the right quality
so for this one what I can do again as
you guys say you want audio files
I could just convert this . mp3 so it's
going to convert from mp4 to mp3 it goes
for me 1.1 gigs in size to a hundred
eggs and sighs and that's it
we can then say what output folder we
want to . this - so i click this and you
know I can do documents i'm going to
downloads I always dump stuff on my
desktop so now it's going to go to the
desktop and then pass that all you do is
you click on this convert button now on
this on my lab computer
I haven't installed the real version so
if i click this is going to ask me to
buy but just take my word for it that I
click this it is a beautiful thing
now one thing with this output format
you can go in and down here there's a
settings option and you can go in and
modify some of these settings so mp3
there's not a whole lot of settings but
let's say we wanted to modify this to
like an mp4 video we can go to settings
and we can see that there are some
options
the quality then they have like the
encoder what you want to use they do so
basically the smart fit this is
basically an automatic automatic option
I would suggest most of these you stay
with with smart fit but if you have any
anything you want to mess with you
no one there that's what so basically
that's it so you want to convert the
file you just it convert and away you go
and again you can see this workspace
i was able to do you do 10 of these at a
time depending on the power of your
computer you can play with that to see
how many you can actually do at one time
then the nice part is you can do here go
here and you can do the download the
youtube videos
so again i'm not saying this is legal
I am NOT saying this doesn't violate
copyright but as a technical
professional you have to show you how
stuff works
so if you want to download youtube
videos that you are allowed to download
you can do that one of two ways the
first way is if we go over here and I've
already opened up a YouTube here and we
look at one of my videos now when i
install
wondershare it installs a chrome and I
think I firefox plugin that allows me to
download directly from video websites so
when i hover over my video you'll see
this download button shows up
i can click on that and then i can say
what quality i want to download the sin
and ATP 720 480 360 - 40 so i could say
i want to download this and 360p then
when it does it ask you where you want
to save as to normal but here's the cool
part is the cool part about this is that
it asks you what do you want to convert
this file - so you want to save it as it
is
let's say mp4 or again I say with daily
blogs you guys want mp3's you can get
select mp3 right here and you click ok
so it's going to take the video from
youtube and then automatically convert
it into that mp3 files so that's the
first way that you can download and
convert the videos
the other way is you see this add URL
button here
what i can do is i can go making click
on the link for the video so i have to
be on the actual video like to do this
then all i do is i copy that video that
that URL
I do add URL and right here I have to
do is get rid of the old one and paste
the new one and we have the same options
where you want to save this too
what format you want to save this too so
i could say i don't know
avi this time so it will download the
video and turn it into an avi file and I
can click ok so that is just absolutely
absolutely awesome so when I downloaded
the the daily blob I did that this
morning a to our daily blog took about
an hour and 10 minutes
this has nothing I don't think this has
anything to do with a software being
slow it's more remember it actually has
to pull off of youtube and you know
bandwidth and networking and all that
kind of general stuff i think is what
made it slower but basically that's all
you have to do and you know once once
it's done once once you've been able to
pull it out
you can just double-click and I say you
get a video like this so this is
actually stored locally and this is what
i was able to pull from YouTube itself
so really you guys know me I'm not only
pragmatic and nasty kind of a little
mean sometimes when i do reviews but
this stuff was absolutely awesome great
especially because for me it was free
I could have to say I say for me it was
free so it's very good but if I had
known how good it was going to be I
would have dropped the sixty dollars in
a heartbeat against sixty dollars for
software that does stop this easily for
somebody like me is just a no-brainer
get if you have to convert to videos
three videos
fine I don't care go out I'm sure
there's some open source thing out there
and you'll be fine when you're like me
and you're staring at 30 or 40 huge
video files
sixty bucks his pins 60 bucks it's been
now the only complaint that I had with
these folks and again something for you
guys to think about in the real business
world is so I got their little freebie
card in my life
great so basically says VIP coupon as a
little picture right here that says get
your complimentary copy of wondershare
video converter ultimate and then it
gives me all the information here to
download it now the thing is is the only
reason i downloaded the software is I
was dealing with a pain point right here
and now this really is a huge issue how
do i get these 30 or 40 classes on the
you to me without losing my mind right
the problem with this advertising is
they don't really tell you anything on
the front and then if you look at the
back
they left it all completely blank so
they have a lot of good marketing bullet
points
30 times the speed a hundred and fifty
three different formats blah blah blah
any marketing person worth minimum wage
should be able to come up with some
really good bullet points as to why I
should take my time and energy to
download and use the software for some
reason
wondershare does not so they're only
fail is in their market because it
really would have been sad like if i do
not have this pain . right here and now
I would have thrown this away because
for me dealing with software and stuff
all the time
it's not exciting you know what you know
I've gotta download the software install
the software going to activate the
software got to figure out how to use
the software that's that's not exciting
to me right you know knowing that is
going to fix a problem that i have up
that would be a very exciting good thing
so again the only fail and it's
something for you guys to think about
when you do marketing is is what's this
ok right you don't tell me really what
the product is and then you just leave
the entire back of your little index
card blank
that's a marketing fail right there
otherwise as a product is a product is
absolutely awesome and again you know
FCC compliance and all that they have a
contact me I haven't talked to them
I got this on my little loot crate so I
didn't get this for free but they're not
paying me if they want to pay me if they
want to sponsor me
I'll take the money but this really is
an honest review
this is if you've got lots and lots of
videos to convert 60 bucks is dirt cheap
to do it
so as you know i'm eli the computer guy
this was the hands on review of the
wondershare video converter ultimate
absolutely totally thumbs up piece of
software as always i enjoyed taking this
video and look forward to the next one
