Review and How To Work With drive Partitions Using AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition

This video is a review and a How To Instructional on AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard edition and how to use the software to work with hard drives and the drive partitions using this software. I had no idea this software even existed until it was brought to my attention two days ago.

This software is very easy and simple to use, the tools are very easy to find and it even has it's own tutorials to help walk anyone thought how to do the various operations to work with hard drives. I tested out this software and really like it and it works great and has the best price tag of free. There is a paid pro version that adds some features and is worth purchasing, but like all other software I show, you don't have to purchase it the free version works wonders.

drawn to another program that works
really good for working with partitions
and it's this one right here
elmi partition assistant standard
edition 5.2 in order to get this you'll
have to go to your web browser and
you're going to want to go to

partition manager HTML and as you can
see right here their states that it will
convert ntfs and fat32 it will convert
GPT and MBR discs it'll make bootable CD
bases on windows 8 fully supports UEFI
boot this one is actually free for home
and commercial use they do have a pro
version it does add some extra features
to that other nice and does make it
worth purchasing the new version but you
don't really have to you can use the
free one and it works real good you can
do a partition alignment this one
actually does do partition recovery it's
got a lot of real nice built-in features
to download it all you have to do is
click on this button that says download
KO em di PA standard MEPA standard and
as you see right here they have the demo
for the pro you can try it out if you
want to or you can just click here and
download the free version once it takes
the scene at all you have to do is click
the download now button and as you can
see it pops up the box ready for the
download click Save
this this is actually a program that
even if you had dial-up speed it's still
going to download pretty quick I mean
it's only about three-and-a-half
megabytes it's it's not real big it's
it's going to download pretty fast and
it's going to install pretty quick too
so I got to do if you're using google
chrome was click on it to run it
wherever the user account control comes
up just click yes
click OK on english next you won't have
to worry about this i've already got it
installed so it's going to have to
install it first
click Next accept the agreement next
next let's go ahead and install the
default location next great desktop icon
if you don't want to desktop iconic
dislike that and install
he selects that now this is something
very interesting not very many programs
have this right there you can select
view partition tutorials if you don't
want to look at them now you can see
select that Andy selector on this
program if you do want to look at night
click finish to run the program and
bring up the tutorials you can also
bring the tutorials up in the program so
i'm going to select that and i'll show
you how to do that the second okay and
this is what it looks like it looks
pretty similar to ease us partition
master except for instead of having to
dig around for a few of the functions
they're all actually pretty well right
here in front of you and me right here
gives you an option to migrate the
operating system to a solid-state drive
or harder or other hard drive you can
copy a partition it's got a disk copy
wizard extended partition wizard you got
a primary-care partition recovery wizard
ntfs to fat32 converter right here's a
make bootable CD wizard and then down
here on the disk operations you get this
copy delete all partitions white hart dr
this surface test convert to MBR rebuild
the MBR which if you don't know what an
MBR is its master boot record and of
course you can look at the properties of
the drive so for this one I do believe
i'm going to go ahead and work with the
mobile expert but first if you look
right up here you'll see tutorials click
that
here's the tutorials and the guides on
how to do the various operations this
program has this is really good a lot of
them don't do this and it will show you
what you need to do and how to do it
ok so right now this is a fat32 so we're
going to go ahead and right click here
and on the right click you can see white
partition the copy partition you can
split the partition resize it create
delete format change the drive label
look at the properties and if you go
over here to advance you can change the
drive letter hide the petition set the
partition to active converted to ntfs or
fat32 check the perturbation and it also
does what is referred to as the
partition alignment this is very very
handy and a great many cases and
situations so right now we're going to
go ahead and wipe the partition and you
can set the number of times you want to
wipe it and the number of times just
increases security and guarantee that
all the data on that drive is gone
being able to successfully wiper
partition out multiple times to destroy
all data is very handy especially with
like USB hard drives external hard
drives that he turns four data back and
forth a lot on because a lot of people
have the Miss idea in their head that if
they delete the file the file is gone
that is not true we need to lay to file
all it does is change the first letter
of the name to a question mark but the
file is still on the drive
this is the reason that being able to
actually wipe the partition clean
guarantees that there's no actual data
on the hard drive whenever you get ready
to reuse it for water various purpose
and same way works with deleting the
partition the the information is all
still there you can actually go ahead
and delete the partition and this one
even gives you the option when you
delete the partition to delete the
partition quickly deleted partition and
wipe all data to prevent data recovery
i'm going to quickly and then let's see
if we can recover that partition
and it comes up with the pending
operation so if i click apply and
proceed
yes it's going to do the quick delete on
the protection all operations have
completed successfully so now we can
click on it and go to the partition
recovery wizard
let's see if we can recover that
partition we just accidentally deleted
the fast search
Hey look right there is that partition
select it click proceed and magically
just like that boom that partition is
restored the data is all still there
intact and everything that was on that
drive is right back on it now if you
happen to have a drive that you're
actually having problems show up like
the NBR is messed up on it or something
like that it won't boot if it's not
booting at all you can try the MBR
repair and you can also look and see if
the petition has been damaged and you
know you right there you can rebuild the
NBR you can do a surface test i would
literally go check the partition make
sure the petition has been deleted first
and if the petition comes back okay then
you would want to do the rebuilding BR
and then i would highly recommend to the
disk surface test which will test the
actual platters on the hard drive
themselves which the platters are where
the mylar coding is at that's got all
the magnetic material on it that it
actually stores the information on and
if there's any sections of that that's
been scratched damage that I mean like a
little tiny particle of dust would be
like ramming into a tree log or trunk of
a tree with your car so if the surface
of the disc is actually damaged it'll go
in and either try to a most of them will
try to a repair that sector or area of
the drive at all possible or be it will
actually go ahead and Mark it off as bad
and prevent the drive from being able to
write data trying to write data and
do that bad sector bad area toyota you
no longer have data loss some drives
once you start having bad spots on the
surface it just seems to explode from
there and goes bad other she has
possible to end up with a capital bad
sectors that just you know it's it's no
big deal you know and it'll just mark
the cluster you have multiple clusters
inside of a sector and it will mark that
clusters bad whatever one's it needs to
to prevent the drive from riding that in
there to keep you from losing
information now Santa's how the general
purpose on this is I need to create
delete and create partitions i'm gonna
go ahead and delete the partition to
wipe all data perfect to prevent data
recovery guarantee i'm starting with a
blank slate on a USB external hard drive
that has absolutely nothing on it for
data transfer now that I've selected
that I have to go up and select apply to
get it to do the process click proceed
yes and that's going to go through the
process i'll go ahead and forward ahead
of time this take some time
this is a process that unlike just doing
a quick delete it's going to take a
while because it actually has to
physically go through and wipe all the
data off the drive but once it does
there will not be anything left you're
not going to be able to do recovery it
will be straight-up clear clean blank
slate and this is a really good way to
prep a hard drive for installing an
operating system perfect for first time
using a computer just to guarantee that
there's no leftover files and especially
if you just got through from having to
do a format from a virus
you know this is one of those were i
would highly recommend doing the secure
wipe of the partition because then you
guarantee that the virus and stuffs not
gonna be there is just a general good
practice for preparation and you don't
have any leftover files from the
previous operating system so you're not
going to end up with any file
contaminate
action the you know if you got corrupt
files it's not going to try to pull
those back because there are some
instances where it will do that whenever
you're trying to do a clean install
ok the process is completed and took all
of about 18 minutes so i said it it
takes awhile for a process like that so
now we're going to create a new
partition for grins we're going to go
ahead and make it an ntfs partition and
if you select advanced you can see right
here the unallocated space you can
create it as a primary or logical
partition and you can even give it a
label right here so i'm going to go
ahead and put in mobile expert and if
it's a solid state drive it gives you
the option right here to do the
solid-state partition alignment
this is not a solid-state drive so I'm
gonna leave that option alone
click OK and wha-la we now have click
apply so that way it goes ahead does the
process we now have our new partition
being built and as soon as it's done
this Drive will actually be 100-percent
wiped and ready freeze that I can also
tell it to format the partition right
here
formatting this petition will destroy
all the data on the petition that's
pretty well standard set of default 4k
cluster says I'm going to make the
cluster size is 32 k click ok click
apply proceed
yes that's going to do the format on the
drive
that guarantees again that the driver is
completely clear and the partition is
properly formatted for use and now that
we've done that I'm going to convert
this dude to fat32 just to show you the
fat32 conversion where we select the
option it gives you the option to fat32
to ntfs or ntfs to fat32 and right there
convert ntfs to fat32 without losing
data that right there is a key factor if
you can do the conversion without losing
anything
man that is just absolutely wonderful so
now we're going to proceed
yes given the fact there is nothing on
there the conversion was pretty fast
click finish back to click cancel
yes and now you'll see right here that
shows it as a fat32 and now that drive
is ready for use for any system being an
older system nervous system any of the
game consoles and you know just real
simple easy data transfers this program
I would actually say is a little better
than a lot of them that I've used it's a
lot better than a lot of my views it's
pretty intuitive it pretty well gives
you all the options that you have right
in front of you instead of having to dig
around and search for this is really a
good program i really like it and I do
believe i'm going to switch over to
using a the Emmy partition assistant
standard edition instead of Jesus
partition master just due to the fact
that there's quite a few more features
and functions that this has it is
compatible with everything from Windows
XP up to windows 8 it's fully compatible
with the GPT the efi UEFI systems
has the ability to repair MBR you know
it's just really feature packed and
comes with the best price tag
you can't beat free like I said earlier
does have a pro version adds quite a few
more features to it and it's really
worth purchasing the proof pro version
if you want you don't have to as I
obviously showed their free version
works absolutely wonderful the free
version does pretty well everything i
need it to and it is a really good
program
this is a definite thumbs up for the
developers Iommi partition assistant
standard i mean it it works really good
i highly recommend this program I didn't
know about it until my attention was
directed to literally yesterday and it's
it's just a really good program i will
definitely be using this one highly
recommend it for people that you know do
a lot of work with partitions do a lot
of work with hard drives and even if you
know you're just preparing your first
hard drive or if you've got a system
that's already set up and running and
you need to prep a hard drive that you
just bought for you know your first OS
install on a new system or something
like that
this is a really really great program
for doing just that that's what it's
built for an intended for as you can see
it's one of the better Drive utilities
and i would highly recommend it it works
great hands down
