hi guys hope you all are doing well
today is a very special video because
i'm doing a collaboration with some
other channels here on YouTube from the
Kin community and what we're doing is a
wedding registry collaboration and that
just pretty much means that we're going
to be focusing on a particular appliance
or tool that we think you should put on
the registry me personally I think you
should put a crock pot on there because
it's very easy to use and the recipes
are pretty much bulletproof and you
don't have to stand over it
be sure to check the description area
because i'm going to link you to the
other channels and the other video so
you can get the other suggestions and
recipes today we're gonna be making a
really easy pot roast
you can't go wrong with this recipe ok i
made it a few times now so you can
definitely impression new spouse or even
those in lakhs check it out
one of the great things about this
recipe that only has a few ingredients
we have the carrots celery rosemary
garlic and onions and we're just gonna
chop those up into large pieces because
the vegetables are going to cook for
quite some time in the crockpot with the
potholes
so we're going to cut them up and about
1 inch size pieces
so now we're going to turn our attention
to our pot roast weighs about three
pounds which is a good size and i'm just
going to season it up with some grand
diamond all-purpose season which you can
get at getbc.com along with this recipe
and I'm just pressing the seasoning into
the meat on both sides
next we're gonna take the pot roast and
put it in a skillet with about 2-3
tablespoons of vegetable oil over high
heat and we're just going to brown the
rolls on both sides for about three to
four minutes
one thing to remember when you're
browning meats are caramelizing the meat
before you put it into the slow cooker
you're always going to get another layer
of flavor that you would normally get if
you didn't do that step
now i'm going to take half of our
vegetables and put them on the bottom of
the slow cooker to create like a bed of
sorts and then we're gonna put the brown
potrillos right on top and then we're
gonna follow up with the rest of the
vegetables now I did not include some
red wine in this particular recipe that
I'm going to show you but i will put it
on the written recipe for those of you
who don't mind cooking with a little red
one
now here's one trick to remember whether
you're cooking with the beef stock and
red wine or just the beef stock make
sure that the liquid only comes up about
halfway of the pot roast
so you're gonna see me pour in my b
stock and then I'm just going to press
it a little bit to make sure it's only
halfway up don't cover the entire dish
also because i was using a new beef
stock that I had used before I wanted to
see how salty it was so I'd held back on
salting my meat before i browned it so
I'm gonna wait halfway through the
cooking process and then i'm going to
taste it and see if I want to add soft
in we're just going to let it cook on
high for five hours or on low for nine
to ten hours when it's done you have
some super tender beef and vegetables
and you did it without having to mess up
the entire kitchen to get a meal made
but I have one more step I want to show
you I separated the meat and the
vegetables from the bra i put it in the
pan it's already hot and i have a
heaping tablespoon of flour and I'm just
putting some of the hot liquid into that
bowl and whisking it really well to make
a slurry
after I risk it will be well to get the
lumps out i want to pour it back into
the pan so i can thicken up the gravy
want to come back up to a boil you'll
have a nice thick and gravy to pour over
your beautiful potholes and your star
choice whether it's rice or potatoes
