How to View and Watch Content on Directv with Mezzmo Media Server

I created this video to show how to access media content on a Directv receiver using Mezzmo Media Server. I had a considerable amount of chlildrens movies I ripped to the computer to save space. Mezzmo allows me to watch them on my Directv receiver without having to buy another piece of hardware.

hi my name is John I have a lot of
movies that I've ripped for my kids so
they can watch their movies you know on
you know whatever platform but i wanted
to find an easier way to deliver that
content to their TV so today I'm going
to show you how to access and watch
content using mesmo medias media server
and directv so first you have to install
mesmo and you can use just the default
settings everything works fine and then
what you're going to want to do is go to
your directv receiver and on your remote
you're going to hit menu and then once
the menu comes up you're going to scroll
down to extras and then once you see
extras you're going to scroll over to
music and photos once you click on music
and photos it's going to bring up the
the media share for directv and then
you'll see a little menu that says my
computers but and at this point you can
click on that you're going to scroll
down until you see the mesmo media sir
you click on it it will bring up
whatever video or files that you shared
and you'll go find the videos or
whatever it is that you
you wanna play and in this case I'm
doing this for the kids so we'll go down
to family and just pick one of the
movies that they like to watch so pink
dolphin tale and you click on it and
once you do the video should come up
and the nice part about this with some
of the other media servers that I've
tried like tversity it couldn't stream
video the directv so I've been really
happy and you see the movies plan and
the nice part is this is a lot easier
than using the xbox or playstation
because my wife doesn't understand
technology very well so this is a good
solution for us so thanks for your time
