Masala French Fries | Easy To Make Crispy Potato Starter Recipe
Learn how to make Masala French Fries - French Fries With A Twist.
The otherwise simple french fries takes on a very zingy feel when tossed with a horde of indian masalas like chilli powder, cumin seeds powder, salt and black salt, making it a truly wonderful combination for burgers. The taste of this thin, crispy snack is far superior to anything we find in local fast food chains. They are great to serve with cool drinks or as an appetizer in parties & get-togethers
Ingredients:
2 - 3 long potatoes
3 tbsp cornflour
salt to taste
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder / flakes
pinch of carom seeds
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp mixed herb seasoning
Method:
- Soak the peeled and cut long potatoes into salted water.
- Take them out of the water and lightly pat dry them using a kitchen towel / napkin and then spread them on a large tray.
- In a separate bowl, mix together cornflour with salt, black pepper powder, chilli powder, carom seeds, coriander powder, oregano and Italian seasoning (optional) and mix all these ingredients well.
- Sprinkle this spiced mixture on the potatoes and mix well so that the potatoes are well coated with the mixture on all the sides.
- Then sprinkle very little water using your hand and again coat the potatoes well.
- Heat oil in a wok. Add the fries to the hot oil in batches and fry them until they become golden brown in colour.
- Once fried, take the fries out on a kitchen towel and serve hot with some mayonnaise, ketchup or your favourite dip.
