Using an elite proxy switcher provides the highest level of security online that is available. But what does this actually mean, in the video we define the three commonly defined proxy types used online.

Transparent Proxy
Anonymous Proxy
Elite Proxy

The differences are in the amount of information which is forwarded by HTTP headers. A transparent proxy will not filter out any information and simply forward requests.

An anonymous proxy will hide your IP address but may forward some information regarding your client within the HTTP headers such as your operating system or the fact that you are using a proxy server.

The elite proxies are the hardest to find as they have to carefully configured and administered. An elite proxy will hide both your IP address and the fact that you are using a proxy, in fact your connection will be virtually indistinguishable from any other client. These are essential when connecting to certain web sites which actively probe and block anyone who is routing through a proxy server.

Which type you use is of course dependent on what you need. The elite proxy is often needed for some of the more restrictive media sites, Hulu for instance blocks any clients actively using proxies to hide their true location. For many though an anonymous proxy will be more than sufficient for just hiding your real location or securing your connection.

Remember though that none of these actually change your 'true ip address' they merely hide your real one. It is also important to remember that using a proxy effectively routes all your browsing data through that server so it is vital that you avoid using any server you don't trust.

and the next one is an anonymous proxy
now this type a proxy will hide your IP
address it doesn't forward your IP
address details
so the web server you're visiting
will only see the anonymous proxies IP
address services this will be fine for
doing something like watching the BBC
where you need the UK I IP address

and they will think that's a client IP
address and no proxying is involved at
all

I haven't used any for a while the only
1i use
