After Effects - Space Parallax, Creating Asteroids 3D Planet Part 1

Learn how to create a planets in parallax space and asteroids in 3D with the after effects.

hello ladies and gentlemen the idea of
this tutorial is to show you how to
create a mysterious 3d looking planet
like this with some asteroids atmosphere
and glow around it with a nice
background so let's start working what
you need to start this project is a
planet map a picture of space with some
stars in it and lastly the atmosphere or
dusty looking atmosphere after you bring
all of these features that you need in
your aftereffect you just drop the
planet map to the composition and first
thing you need to do is just go to
effects & presets and I've been CC skier
and drop it right into the composition
and you already create the planet and
this planet is treaty you can even turn
it down to the radius make it a little
bigger if you want to rotate it in any
direction you can go to rotation and
little interaction that you would like
anyways after that you have to
right-click on it decompose the
composition leave all the attributes and
the next thing is the background picture
so I'm going to just bring the
background and put it right in behind
the planet scale it down and you can see
the color is not matching with our
planet so go to the effects & presets
and typing hue and saturation and just
drop it to this picture the background
picture click on the color eyes right
here and turn this color is Hugh to
somehow that it just kind of like match
with your planet and then go to the
effect and just go to the color
correction and come to curve crush the
color down a bit to make it look like a
dark background because what's important
in this composition is the planet at the
background
alright next thing we have to do is to
create some fog like a space box so
on the composition go to the layer and
new solid make it concise and click on
OK and go to the effects and go to noise
and grain and pick the fragile nice here
go to the evolution and click on the
stopwatch and also go to the transform
click on offset turbulence stopwatch and
also rotation then come back to the
scale and bring it down to maybe 67
after that you have to move the playhead
to the end of the composition give the
evolution about like for evolution and
turbulence get the dialect house and
maybe a thousand two hundred or so more
or less yeah and rotation you can go to
the positive side like a clockwise to
bed maybe 64 some and now as you can see
it's just like turning around
so next thing is again go through the
effect and preset type in hue and
saturation just drop it in go to
colorize here click on this and then
turn the color is Hugh to kind of like
dark blue saturated a little bit not so
much and the next thing is to change the
transfer mode to screen again click on
the layer and click on T later T and
bring your passed it down to about maybe
20 13 and about to be done here except
you have to just make a mask
click on the layer take the rectangular
tool and
I can mask about this area then go to
the mask down here and feather it up as
much as you think he is going to be good
for the character I can see is kind of
like look nice here all right okay next
thing is to create some light for this
edge of the planet and also decide so
let's duplicate the planet
first the plant composition so click on
control t to duplicate it after that
click on either one of them and click on
letter e to open DC's here and then open
both of the mob given a little place
let's make these two planet attached to
each other and then we're going to go
through the light stuff so what we have
to do just hold the Alt key and click on
radius and take their equip and drop it
on radius in initial planet then open
the rotation on both of them and we have
to do this on all these three XY Z
rotations as well so again hold the old
and aches stopwatch and take a peek clip
and drop it on X down there and all
click and take the pic trip to gray and
alt-click and take it to Z now this both
plants are attached to each other so
let's change the light now in the first
one not let me just actually change the
name of the the first planet or in the
show connector planet one to get
confused
ok on the secondary planet that you have
you created just click on light open it
up and turn this to let me just go 90
degree can go to the light and bring its
right to the edge intensify the light
about two maybe 300 300 it may be 43p or
80 10 is good and just make it more edgy
just like this and then change ally to
something between lacteal like the teal
color so this is about this age and now
for the other one and click on the
second planet and duplicated again but
ctrl-d open it up open the effect of go
to CC sphere and light and here on light
you have to put minus 90 degree light
show up here change the color to white
bring it up about under light hi just
maybe two terms of the planet then bring
the intensity down be to about 200
everyone 97-95 and the last thing is to
just go to the transfer mode and go to
screen change the transfer market system
as you can see now we have to a planet
look pretty much between e and but you
have to just put some animation so the
first thing you have to do here is to
just put that mostly around it so just
go to planet one double click on it
bring the cost down on top of the pad
also atmosphere actually change the
transfer more to screen again and now
bring the plate the beginning of the
composition and go to the effects &
presets and type in motion the motion
tile and drop it and click on tight
center move the playhead to the end of
the composition
and given bad like 1500 something like
that so now as you can see if you go
back to our composition you see that now
I was gonna have movement around now
let's just have some animation to the
planet itself so let's open the planet
one go to the rotation Greg click on it
the beginning of the composition and
then move it to the end of the
composition and animated the bed and not

now remember the atmosphere have to be a
little faster than the earth to be Luke
more natural and Karl actually not let's
make some glow around it again click on
the planet number one go-to the effect
and go to stylize and go to glow here
you have to change the glow based on
Alpha channel and compass the original
on top so now you can get more radius as
you can see his King up and well can
make it bigger smaller but doesn't have
to be that big so we can change the
color that first like a colorier here
yellow to be local natural black our
planet and the second color would be
about this area and ok as you can see
now you have to go low and everything ok
