Book Review: A Secret Kept

Book Review: A Secret Kept

Question for everyone: Has anyone heard about this book becoming a movie in France? The author mentioned it was, like Sarah's Key has, but I haven't seen anything.

do
I would just like to wish good luck to
anybody doing NATO Ivo
this month I've done it before and I
have succeeded but
when I mean University adjust doesn't
doesn't work out so
yep good luck to all you guys I'll be
rooting for you throughout the month I
know everybody's feeling fresh right now
but I know around
you know the eighteenth nineteenth
you're like oh my god what do i do the
story
I think bro
today I have a book review for you and
a particular book which someone who
seemed pretty interested in what I was
reading
and that would be a secret kept by
Tatiana de Rosnay
II absolutely loved her first book say
risky
you know this is her second book and
it still has sum up the similar flavors
a
say risky it takes place in France it's
about a family there's
mystery and H
issues with the family is hand but
there's no jump back to a previous
historical point I'm
Soulstar whatsoever short synopsis of
what's going on
the main character in this one is male
his name is Antwan way
and he and his sister Melanie
at the beginning of the book decide to
go on a national a long weekend
to this island that these two go two
when they were children
the island is know our 148
whooty I do not speak French very well
so have sorry if I am like butchering
that
so much but they go to that island and
they haven't been back there and so many
years and then
when the go there all these memories
start flooding back and
Melanie remember something really
shocking and when she's about to tell
her brother they're driving home
and sort of the emotion overcome search
actually it's driving off the road
now his sister Lois this is still off a
bit be a very beginning of the book so
I'm not giving you anything very serious
here you
that sounds like a.m. but that accidents
or kicks off about two different things
you learn that tonya that's kinda what
they call a fish or
account when you divorced his wife he
still kinda in love with her is having
trouble connecting with his kids he is
sort of lost in his life he hates his
job P
just doesn't like existing basically and
his sister on what the accident happens
can't really remember what she wanted to
tell her brother
and but he's anxious to know so those
couple different
issue sorta keep the book flowing after
the accident
the mystery we eventually find out house
to do with
Tonio and Melanie's mother clover use
shoes an extremely well let's person but
she came from poor backgrounds she
married into a very
rich proper parisians family Tokyo and
Melanie are raised never to question you
never
their stuff but there was supposed to be
seen not heard and they don't really
communicate with their father that well
and so this whole family is the sort of
suppressing the secret and for the rest
of the book you sir figuring out the
secret is
your watching Antonio trying to you ball
with his kids house he can and can't get
over his by
and move on from work because
she's got a different life she cheated
on him with a guy named
say urge and they're kinda together you
know of over here and
Tonio misses her a lot yeah so it's
definitely more of a grown-up book in
the sense that it's just grown up world
problems
rather than the mystery over nineteen
forties world war two storey
therefore I didn't enjoy it as much as I
wanted to
it's still an interesting book and it
still high up there in terms of
the quality and how much I did like it's
just that I had trouble because I kept
comparing it to her first for
had a lot of trouble relating to some
other stuff he was going there just
because
I don't have issues with my family I'm
not a 40-year-old man
you be older you might enjoy it more
because warily
having kids and you know them in their
adolescence in your
trying to be a good influence on them
without completely dominating their
lives maybe
you've been through a divorce in you
understand the pain that night
just I couldn't really connect to a
lottt the good parts though
though where the mystery I thought I had
it figured out how and then it
you know the kind threw a curveball at
the last moment I was like how's that
go is deaths that the just are happen
and you are
really expecting them but they they work
for the story because it kind of helps
heat the clock wishing for it I almost
fell lie
the author was looking for something
just for
push the store to keep going to get to
that in places like you know up
I'm gonna kill this character then as I
was reading
the extra stuff in the back they have
like the book club parts
I found out that one that the deaths she
actually
did it because one of her kids
had had experienced something similar in
his life
and it was sorta to commemorate which I
actually thought was
really nice after I read that is doing
all that stuff I'm gonna give the book
of four out of five stars I feel like I
just a little too harshly based on the
first but whereas I had just kinda read
this on my own
I would have definitely going on for a
5-4 as I feel like
for you have a5 but you just things that
you like more harshly just because you
expect so much from them so you
I'm gonna go with a four out of five for
a secret kept and I'm going to recommend
it to anyone who has read say risky and
enjoyed it
someone who likes reading about France
because they do you know do you live
really nice descriptions a friend
specifically Paris at No
TA and and the island so if you guys
have read
a secret capped for you for it's a risky
really liked him there is Nate leave me

of the book
