Mr. Goolsbee:
Hi, I'm Austan Goolsbee,
Chairman of the Council of
Economic Advisers.
Last week, my colleague David
Plouffe launched the Advise the
Advisors program and he
asked for your input,
people's input
around the country,
about what innovation means
for their local communities.
He got literally
thousands of responses,
and he and the head of the
National Economic Council,
Gene Sperling, are still
going through those.
As you know, over the
last several weeks,
the President has outlined his
agenda to win the future by
out-educating, out-innovating, and
out-building the rest of the world.
Next week, I'm going to be part
of a team traveling with the
President going to
Cleveland, Ohio,
where we're going to be meeting
with hundreds of small business
leaders to talk to them about
five key areas facing small
business and entrepreneurs
around the country.
Now, I know not everybody
can get to Cleveland,
Ohio for this event, and so what
we're setting up online is an
Advise the Advisors program
about small business.
If you go to
whitehouse.gov/advise,
we've got questions in each of
the five areas that we're going
to be talking about at that win
the future small business event.
And we're going to have open
until this Sunday at 5 p.m., the
20th, the ability to answer
those questions and give us the
kind of input we need.
In Cleveland, I'm going to do
an online session in which --
where we answer questions and
which we're going to go through
some of the comments
that we get on that.
So I encourage you to take part.
I guarantee you that every
submission that comes in,
somebody is going to read it and
we are going to pay attention.
We may generate White Boards out
of it; we may generate policy.
Now, some of your comments in
the past can be rather colorful.
This is going to be a family
program in Cleveland,
so I encourage you to
participate responsibly.
So don't forget that URL,
whitehouse.gov/advise,
and thanks for your time.
