Convert Word file to Rich Text Format

Video demonstrates how and why to convert a Microsoft Word file into RIch Text Format that can be opened by all other word processors.

you to submit documents that you type
using a word processor and a special
file format called rich text format or
that RTF rich text format files can be
opened with any word processor
regardless of what type of computer it
is on this short tutorial will
demonstrate how to save a file that is
word processed in a rich text file
format first open your file and your
word processor or the file you already
word processed and this example we will
use microsoft word 2007
after typing your document click on your
ribbon and go down to the save as
command on the save as dialog box choose
the pulldown under files of type or save
as type depending upon your system and
choose rich text format
finally click Save note right here that
in doing this you're creating a brand
new file
note the location of where you're saving
your file as you will be using this
particular file to send or upload to
your instructor
if you're using a Macintosh computer
you'll click on the file menu and go
down to save as or the apple key then
save as if you're on an older mcintosh
as shown here on your file type dialog
box it looks like this on the Macintosh
computer choose the format and then you
can say rich text format or s shown here
