hello my name is Tom Morello i am the
night watchman and we're in my home
studio called veritas Studios here in
Los Angeles California where and make
records make rock make folk music play
guitar and in the studio I've made a
number of Records me the street sweeper
records the last two night watchmen
records
it's also doubles as a rehearsal studio
this here is my very first guitar that I
ever had
it's a que guitar it's the one with a
lot of knobs and very expensive fifty
dollars that my mom got the i bought a
guitar combination set for a hundred
dollars in my mom paper like the and
paper at the time for saving up for
still doesn't stay in tune very well but
to the good old friend
all right this this is this was my main
guitar that I practice my countless
countless countless hours on through the
years
gibson explorer - and this will each
other at all through college I moved to
LA
I ruined it sound by putting in a que
leur tremolo bar which of course of the
time you need if you want to be able to
be an eighties dive-bombing rocker
you need to be able to go Wow and so
it's a like from apparently the sweet
spot of the Explorer is the part that
they take out when they put in the case
of guitar so that neither the guitar in
some way but it didn't it didn't hold me
back from playing it for many years
after that and then this ebony fretboard
I've spent a lot of hours
this is the sole power good time when I
was transitioning from rage against the
machine and Audioslave I wanted a new
sound a new guitar and a new
by the new style is slowed and written
on it and of course i was inspired by
Woody Guthrie's this Machine Kills
Fascists for writing on all my guitars
which one tends to get a monitor and
this was figuring some solar power with
Audioslave so this is the guitar of the
manga time for all of the audience like
records
and four-time kind of replace the on the
homeless retirement
six years this uh is the my main drop D
tuning guitar for my entire career and
inexpensive made us a telecaster that I
got I traded my roommate was in a band
called liquid Jesus he needed a marshal
head and I needed a guitar that I could
tune down and play
grunge worthy heavy riffs with and so
the exchange was made and this is a song
that's all of the the rage Audioslave
street sweeper night watchman songs and
dropped into my killing in the name
and freedom testify all those that are
in the drop team played and written with
the band on this this this was a guitar
of indeterminent name and origin that I
got at a pawn shop in toronto for 40
canadian dollars a license or like the
wait look I'm not even sure it's made of
wood that but i liked the way it looked
which is the sort of main criteria for
getting guitars the time and we wrote
and recorded regions machines on tire
meet with this guitar and with a 20 watt
solid skates and which is in that room
over there and that was our first Grammy
was that song of the Sun turned into
three canadian dollars good 21
solid-state amplifiers
so there you have it that's a tour of
some of my pop rock axis 2012 looks to
be a busy year
there's a the night watchman record
worldwide rebel songs out going to get a
tour extensively behind that also got a
lot of the works with the Occupy Wall
Street movement of the global occupy
wall street movement musically planning
some touring and some songs and things
to go along with that also continuing to
write and score my graphic novel my
comic book orchid and it that if that's
not enough
that's a nose are raising a couple of
young rockers my and it's so it's a busy
on your head
yeah
