hi I'm Jeff from clear apps i'm here
today to show you how we inventory our
office assets here in New York using
network inventory advisor so i'm in the
office
my coffee is being prepared i'm
launching network inventory advisor
since i don't have any asset to my
network yet I see this wizard and all i
need is to set the login and password to
access remote assets and hit the start
smart scan button network inventory
advisor features a unique remote data
acquisition and analysis engine scanning
is fast and accurate
I don't even have my copy yet and it's
all done
I have the list of all my assets right
here in case i want to add some
standalone assets such as printers
keyboards etc i can easily add devices
manually and include them into the asset
list
oh and one more thing in case my
computer is outside the network it still
can be added to my inventory i simply
export inventory agent to the USB Drive
run it on my node and afterwards
important gather data to my network
summary by the way I have my network
summer here with reports on all the
software and hardware installed across
the entire network with the help of the
all software tab I can easily identify
what software is installed we're and
control the licenses used and possessed
the tab all hardware helps me greatly
when any mass upgrades and repairing
computers for 64-bit OS thanks to
convenient alerts I'm always aware of
critical changes on my net and I like
the feature of the schedule scanning
which always keeps my network data
up-to-date I can also narrow down to the
details on any asset I need and explore
it more thoroughly the detailed reports
include general asset summary software
inventory hardware inventory and other
details if I need to supply an overview
network analysis to my boss
I just do two three clicks and I write a
report builder go to the reports tab
click run all and now I have all the
predefined reports built and ready for
use basic report network inventory hard
drive usage reports low HDD space report
and more
what is great is that i can easily track
hardware and software changes that
happen on the network since the last
scan by using the corresponding
predefined reports but in case i want to
have a custom report i have the option
called custom report it will contain
only the data I need select the assets
and check the details you're interested
in and simply push the red button that's
it now i can export this report printed
out or just keep it for later reference
as you see it has taken me just about
three minutes to inventory my whole
office give network inventory advisor a
