Black Widow vs Praying Mantis: Spiders infest my house
Black Widow vs Praying Mantis: Spiders infest my house
If you don’t yet know the story, I started finding black widows in my house, and I have plenty of other videos talking about that. In this video I show the results of following a comment I received about using a praying mantis to get rid of the spiders.
It did not work out at all; the mantis wanted nothing to do with a deadly black widow spider.
WARNING!!! Poisonous spiders are in my house! If you are afraid of spiders, DO NOT WATCH this video.

From Wiki:
Latrodectus hesperus, the western black widow spider or western widow, is a venomous spider species found in western regions of North America. The female's body is 14–16 mm (1/2 in) in length and is black, often with an hourglass-shaped red mark on the lower abdomen. This "hourglass" mark can be yellow, and on rare occasions, white. The male of the species is around half this length and generally a tan color with lighter striping on the abdomen. The population was previously described as a subspecies of Latrodectus mactans and it is closely related to the northern species Latrodectus variolus. The species, as with others of the genus, build irregular or "messy" webs: Unlike the spiral webs or the tunnel-shaped webs of other spiders, the strands of a Latrodectus web have no apparent organization. Female black widows have potent venom composed of neurotoxins. Fatalities usually only happen with children and the elderly, however medical treatment may be required for others as well. However, the male black widow is harmless to humans. The female's consumption of the male after courtship, a cannibalistic and suicidal behaviour observed in Latrodectus hasseltii (Australia's redback), is rare in this species. Male western widows may breed several times during their relatively short lifespans.[3] Males are known to show preference for mating with well-fed females over starved ones, taking cues from the females' webs.

hey everybody this is just a quick
update you guys movin want to know
what's going on with those spiders your
house what's up with those black widows
well I'll tell you we just got back from
Hawaii and when we were in Hawaii we
drop the cats off at a friend's house
and we had the house fumigated
so we've been back for two days now
two and a half days now and i have not
seen a black widow yet so it is way way
too early to tell if they are gone if
they're still here or what's going on
when we were in Hawaii there weren't any
black widows but I did see one big giant
banana spider but no I don't have a
picture of it I know bummer huh
and for those of you want to know what
really happened with that toe biter we
had that big water beetles spider eaten
thing I had
well it sort of worked and it didn't
work if you remember I made a video and
I said man we got this thing turn it
loose in the house and it should eat the
spiders
it didn't really work out that way
within a couple days it just flew out
the door
who knew it could fly right but the time
it was here it did kill two spiders but
they were black widows and how I know
what killed two spiders is I found that
shoot up carcasses of two giant house
spiders the big brown spiders i normally
have which I hate
anyways those carcasses were up on top
of a bookcase where nothing could have
got up there now the cats going to go on
top of this book k so it had to bend
that flying toe biter
so in a nutshell i was given a bug
turned it loose in the house it's hunted
down a couple of spiders that had lunch
and then flow away
yeah I don't know and then several
people told me no you need to use a
praying mantis you get some praying
mantises and you turn them loose in the
house a little eat the black widows
because the things that he black widows
are praying mantises wasps and birds and
I wasn't going to let wasper birds loose
in the house so I got a praying mantis
now I was smarter this time instead of
just turning the praying mantis loose i
had a little box and I caught one of the
black widows wandering on the kitchen
floor
loop
anyways and i put it in there with them
and we'll see if this praying mantis
will eat the spider to the praying
mantis lead the Black Widow then we'll
just turn whole bunch of loosen be done
with it
but as you can see in this video it it
wasn't working
the praying mantis want nothing to do
with his spider once he saw that red
hourglass on it and is why I think
that's what the deal is because I've had
a praying mantis in a jar before and we
gave him a giant house spider spider
that was three times because big old
spider and he just attacked it and ate
it
but as you can see from this video this
mantis wants nothing to do with this
black widow smart bug right
the praying mantis tested last very long
as you can see spider was there doing a
spider thing
mantis wanted nothing to do with a
spider not even when I just tried to get
that spider together without bringing
matt is that meant just want nothing to
do with it
even to the point is a spider walk near
the measures would lift up his leg and
let that spider keep going have you ever
seen a praying mantis act like this
i'm betting know especially since
praying mantises are known to be amazing
hunters and bug killers last thing a
prey I've seen a praying mantis grab a
small lizard before I it's bizarre
it's even more bizarre that this praying
mantis was afraid of the Black Widow
so that's what's been happening we tried
the toe biter
we tried the praying mantis now we tried
the fumigator alright so that's what's
been going on we tried that toe biter it
didn't work
we tried the praying mantis obviously
didn't work and we tried fumigating
we're in Hawaii so we'll see if it
worked or not and maybe we can get back
to just having those big creepy brown
giant house spiders that are very
venomous and a lot better than black
widows
alright so that's the update when I have
another update or if I find out the
black little i'll let you guys know
what's going on but hopefully we took
care of the problem and also for
everybody who's been giving me
suggestions on what to do
thanks for the suggestions and maybe we
fixed it and I know a lot of people
suggested pregnant is pregnant is gonna
bring mantis well it didn't work sorry
all right leave a comment to the
that section and hey as always thanks
for watching be meister 22 the most
dangerous man on you two
